Frustrated Muslims fight "ignorance"
The Denver Post ^ | July 24, 2005 | Diane Carmen

Posted on 07/24/2005 4:30:19 PM PDT by CO Gal

When U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., suggested that bombing Mecca might be an appropriate response to the terrorist threat, he sent shock waves around the world.

And he thrilled many of his supporters.

I heard from dozens of nuke-happy Tancredo fans, though not all of them had the courage to sign their names.

From Don MacEwan: "Islam was and is the religion of terror. ... Putting forth a warning to Islam that mutually assured destruction means their holy city of Medina is nuked if they do not curb their terrorist urges seems to be a prudent step."

From Cynthia J. Starks: "The problem is with the religion of Islam. ... These people are EVIL!!"

From John M. Conway: "I think Mr. Tancredo is right. ... These people are barbarians and it's bed-wetting cowards such as yourself who somehow think they can be reasoned with."

From Margaret Wilmott: "Tancredo hit a nerve. Good for him. I'd prefer a first strike. Why wait?"

The State Department, meanwhile, was in full-on damage control. "These remarks are offensive and unacceptable and do not reflect U.S. policy," it said in a statement. "We unequivocally reject the idea of targeting Mecca or any other civilian or religious site by anyone. The U.S. respects and honors all the great religions of the world, including Islam."

News organizations from Australia to Russia responded with their own criticisms of Tancredo's remarks.

"The lack of understanding for Islam in the United States is disturbing," said Spiegel Online of Germany. "One gets the impression that, were the Constitution not clear about the separation between church and state, the country might rapidly turn into a Christian theocracy. And Muslims would be the first to go. ... Is it any wonder that many Muslims are skeptical of the United States?"

As the controversy roiled, Muslims in Colorado became increasingly frustrated and frightened.

Rafaat Ludin, president of the Colorado Muslim Society, said he has received hate-filled, threatening calls and e-mails at the Muslim Society and on his private phone and private e-mail account in the wake of Tancredo's remarks.

On Tuesday, a car raced through the grounds of the Colorado Muslim Society, endangering people who were there to study and pray. "The schoolchildren were very frightened," he said.

Muslims here and around the world have been vocal and forthright in their condemnation of terrorists for years, Ludin said, but the message seldom is heard. "We had a huge demonstration in Washington, D.C., against terrorism a year and a half ago and even that didn't get any media coverage," he said.

That's why the Muslim Society has hung five banners outside the mosque along Parker Road to try to communicate directly with people who don't understand Islam. They say: "Islam = peacemaking," "Muslims condemn terrorism," "Islam values life," and other messages.

"The position of the Koran is very clear about this," Ludin explained. "The taking of life of innocent people is not only condemned, it is a major sin. For a Muslim person who does this, there is no chance of going to heaven."

All religions have extremists who ration alize violent behavior through some distorted interpretation of their faith, he said. "Eric Rudolph is one of those radicals who went out and started bombing places because he thought he had a religious duty to do that. You don't go out and bomb the Vatican to stop that."

He said the misunderstanding of Islam among Americans - especially people in positions of power - is appalling.

"That someone in Congress on the International Relations Committee is able to make such statements ... and have no shame whatsoever, no understanding whatsoever of the emotions of the more than 7 million Muslims in the U.S., that's what shocks us, that's what angers us and scares us," he said.

"It's such a high level of ignorance of our beliefs," he said. "It's such a message of hate

The position of the Koran is very clear about this," Ludin explained. "The taking of life of innocent people is not only condemned, it is a major sin. For a Muslim person who does this, there is no chance of going to heaven."

Lies for the kaffirs who are too lazy to read what the koran actually says. The passage below deals with a female poet who spoke out to Mohammed's followers...

Ishaq: 676 “‘You obey a stranger who encourages you to murder for booty. You are greedy men. Is there no honor among you?’ Upon hearing those lines Muhammad said, ‘Will no one rid me of this woman?’ Umayr, a zealous Muslim, decided to execute the Prophet’s wishes. That very night he crept into the writer’s home while she lay sleeping surrounded by her young children. There was one at her breast. Umayr removed the suckling babe and then plunged his sword into the poet. The next morning in the mosque, Muhammad, who was aware of the assassination, said, ‘You have helped Allah and His Apostle.’ Umayr said. ‘She had five sons; should I feel guilty?’ ‘No,’ the Prophet answered. ‘Killing her was as meaningless as two goats butting heads.’”

You have no right to tell other Americans to leave the country.

Huh? What's the First Amendment for then?

To put it very bluntly?

The first mistake was letting them in the door.
The second mistake was allowing this "unassimilated" nonsense- if you want to retain your native culture?
Fine.
Stay home.

My vest-pocket take is this:

I have long ceased having a care about what these creatures ( Muslims ) think, or feel, or fear, or even care about anymore:

Islam, The Alleged Religion of Peace® ( TARP™ )? Click this picture:

No, I am not exaggerating.
I am not joking-
-this is life versus death, freedom versus slavery that we are talking about.
Click the picture, go to the "last," and read backwards.
If you are not informed about this stuff, you will be made sick. If you are informed, you will be made mad, all over again.

...and then, there's this little matter still on the books, waiting to be accounted for:

Where It's 9-11 All the Time...

Click the picture...

"Where it's nine-eleven all the time
and no Sun sets, and no clocks chime
where no voice speaks and no bird trills
the Moon hangs frozen o'er the hills
The winds are still, they seem to say,
Reflect, remember, stop to pray..."

I wrote this some time ago, and while I wish I could change what is said, I cannot, nor will I, retract a single word of it:

From my file, "Fire and Blood and Iron:"

The entire West ( dare I say "the civilized World?" ) is locked in a fight to the death with militant Islam.

There will be no second-place winner, no "third way" solution-- it is March or Die time, folks.

It is Us versus an eighth-century "culture" of plunder & pillage, forced religious "conversions," and the mistreatment of women.

The sooner we face up to this fact realistically and quit dancing around PC talking-point nonsense about diversity and tolerance, the better off we'll all be.

We did not pick this fight- which really has roots in Jimmy Carter's appeasement in 1979 of militants- but we had damned well better see it for what it is, and be prepared to face it and finish it.

I'll put it in raw, personal terms-- I don't want Sharia law visited upon my women, and I don't want a goat-roper "culture" infesting my land.

I don't want their vile, nasty, loathsome weapons of mass destruction loosed upon my fair country, either.

They picked the fight, and now it is up to us to finish it- balls to the wall, hammer and anvil, fire and blood and iron... freedom is never, ever free, and the coin you pay it in is men's lives and tears and blood.

What we saw during Gulf War I was our military doctrine ( high tech ) versus Soviet doctrine ( throw a lot of low tech iron at the problem )-- and we all know how that turned out.

What we saw in the 3-Week War is Information-Tech,
( What some are calling it Hyperwarfare... )
or 21st Century warfare versus 20th Century...

What I would suggest, and call your attention to, is the fact that we, and Israel, are capable of waging 21st Century warfare, and the entire Arab world is not.

Proven fact, by recent events.

One more thing- this will be a war where we are all called to be warriors- so I very strongly suggest to you that the time has come to get hard, and stay hard... it really is the time for Fire and Blood and Iron...

"Any religion that preaches that is acceptable to murder people who have left the faith, is a religion that must either evolve or become extinct."

Sorry, but I don't think that's in their list of choices. I believe they're more into world dominance - and they'll either get it or die trying.

Muslims speak these words but from my understanding anyone who is not muslim is not Innocent. (This understanding comes from muslim friends who are now Christians. I take them at their word,)

Undoubtedly true, however there seems to be some disagreement between Islam and the rest of the world on the definition of "innocent". ;)

WOW! And how many terrorist attacks have taken place in the last year and a half? Will you have another demonstration to celebrate the tenth anniversary of your first demonstration?

On the contrary, Americans understand Islam more now than before 9/11/01. What's appalling is people who keep attempting to appease a religion that condones violence against non muslims. The idea of peace to a muslim is different than the meaning of peace for a non muslim as the article below explains.

Rudolph wasn't TAUGHT to kill by his 'religion.' Terror and hatred is NOT part of Christian doctrine. NO priest or Christian cleric ever stood at a service and commanded those listening to them to kill anyone for Jesus! Damn, that comparison makes me furious!

And we should all remember- and remind everyone- that there are TWO DIFFERENT languages being spoken here. When Muslims say ' innocents' they mean innocent MUSLIMS. They do not consider anyone of any other faith 'innocent'. They always
talk in generalities- never specifics. It's never ' NO, we don't believe Christians and Jews should be killed.' Where are the signs saying ' We love our Christian and Jewish brothers and sisters!', hmmm???

THEIR meaning of words is not OUR meaning of words.

And if they distrust and are offended so much by the West, and the US- WHY are they here???? Foreign born or native- why stay??

Just once, I wish someone would ask one of these lying bastards how he thinks Israeli children feel when one of his filthy running dogs blows apart their family members in front of their eyes.

So Iranian Muslims supporters of the Shah of Iran who came here after 1979 and have assimilated probably more than any other group in such a short span of time - vehemently pro-American, hard-working, and with an average yearly income twice the average should just leave?

Yep, the terrorists are just following their false prophet's teachings...

Qur’an 8:12 “I shall terrorize the infidels. So wound their bodies and incapacitate them because they oppose Allah and His Apostle.”

Qur’an 8:57 “If you gain mastery over them in battle, inflict such a defeat as would terrorize them, so that they would learn a lesson and be warned.”

Ishaq:326 “If you come upon them, deal so forcibly as to terrify those who would follow, that they may be warned. Make a severe example of them by terrorizing Allah’s enemies.”

Correct! Listen carefully to who they define as innocent. Ask them if a Jewish newborn is innocent and listen to their answer.

The Imams give personnel interpretation to the Koran I believe because they don't want the average Muslim reading and interpreting the Koran themselves, maybe someone can verify this. This leaves opportunity for Moslims to come forth into the 21st Century. But until you hear it Arabic, in the mosques any condemnation of terror is merely a political tactic.

No one has mentioned the ironically funny line-
They fear a Christian theocracy- and that Muslims would be the first to go.
BUT- they have NO problem with an ISLAMIC theocracy, or the fact that other religions are gone from those countries!
Can anyone name a country that is BETTER off because of Islam's presence?
