LATE EDITION (CNN) : Sens. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi ambassador-designate to the United States; Saad Hariri, head of Lebanon's anti-Syrian coalition.
We're going to watch and see what it's all about. If it's political in a way that angers us, we'll stop.
And I know what you mean about NYPD Blue there for a while :-)
Love to see that. That is one way to cover your butt unless one of the loser Dims calls for a roll call vote for his own use in some way.
Point Two: Why would the Times wait until the week before the vote to pull its shenanigans?
For a delay for an investigation/witch-hunt/fishing expedition since O'Conner said she'd stay on the bench until Robert's was confirmed. But, I wouldn't think they'd want to delay the inevitable given that Bush will have at least one if not two more hits at this ball.
Well, we know that MSNBC is doing their part for the Hillary for President campaign...
I was just channel surfing and MSNBC is showing an hour Headliners & Legends show about Hillary...
AND, we know there doesn't even have to be a "Paid for by the Hillary for Pres. campaign" disclaimer....her publicity will be free, free, free for the next 3 and a half years!
Gergen always struck me as the perfect courtier when he used to appear with Mark Shields on the Canadians' newshour on PBS. Next to Shields who was passionately partisan but not unreasonable, Gergen seemed to be straining for an intellectual neutrality that comes naturally to only imbeciles or psychopaths. He's not straining anymore.
Your analysis is excellent and a joy to read. But don't think G. is capable of counterfeiting conservative currency; he and the rest of the media morons truly believe that conservatives are really just like them, without scruples and lacking guiding principles. They don't get it. That is why they react so violently and so spitefully, like spoiled, over-indulged brats.
Thanks for your post. It was great.
My goodness, sounds good, when can I make a "reservation"?
LOL
Gergen said that? What an ass. Yeah, let's have a big White House investigation in the midst of a terror war. Then the radical Islamists can win, and David Gergen can teach us how to love living with Al Qaeda. I swear, these Washington politicos like Gergen are the biggest bunch of losers on the planet. I wouldn't trust my security and that of my country to these liberals. That's why Kerry lost.
Seems like another grandstander.
$$$$
Have you seen anything first hand, or is your impression swayed a bit from the constant repitition of the 'journalists' that he is a grandstander.
I have seen very little of substance about him, just this innuendo. I fear that even we, the informed about the political media, can get suckered from time to time.
Yes. And most of it will be glowing, and gussied up to look like an unstoppable bandwagon - which will appeal to the "Undecideds" and "Independents"!
Babs Boxer, Ted Kennedy and Dick Durbin are damaged goods. Robert Byrd is seen as old and senile, and also has a KKK background. Algore and Joe Biden are possible candidates for the Dem nomination in 2008 and I'll bet Hillary! got the word out to the MSM to start throttling back on those two's face time. Howard Dean? Ha! He's lost in the MSM Exile Wilderness!
So Chuckie is the latest willing "martyr" to carry Hillary!'s leftist Bush hating water. Bet on it.
Good afternoon, and as always, thanks for doing this thread every Sunday....Just finished fast-forwadring through most of the shows, and I have one question for the group..I've noticed, I believe that since SDO'C announced her retirement, the word "choice" has not been uttered once by the Dems..it's all privacy, etc...have the rules changed?
:-)
And I like to bake. LOL
My antennae read those leaks as spin, not necessarily from his staff - "lawyers close to the investigation" - but from lawyers for one of the journalists/agencies involved.
I am very interested in the theory that the Fitzgerald's focus is really inside the CIA - not the White House, and those feeling the heat are beginning to react. Hence, a Sat morning radio address by an ex-CIA agent.
Did you check my link at #244? Has to do with O'Connor staying on the court until nomination and confirmation of her successor.
As long as she stays, there is no vacancy and Bush can't name a successor. Since he has nominated one, he doesn't consider her still on the court.
You mean the "stalking points." 'Choice' must not have focus-grouped well. Perhaps they 'feel' (they do very little thinking) that 'privacy' will connect with the legalese of Roe v Wade better.
I have high hopes for Roberts to be able to speak plain English during the confirmation process - thus confounding the 'esteemed' Senators on the committee.
Exactly---the bandwagoners, that always want to be on the "right" side, won't even read her opinions or voting record, they will believe what the media tells them...
and just like that author Klein has been "blackballed" from the MSM news shows, by Hillary's ORDERS....the bad stuff about her will be filtered out...
They will want to say---I was a part of voting in the FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT...it will be an "event", a "coronation", rather than an election...you watch!
But, the problem is that Hillary is bad enough, but you also get Billy Boy playing with the "government toys" for at least four more years...
and with this War on Terror going on, can this country SURVIVE the dismantling, yet again, of the Office of the POTUS?????
The answer is NO----but I fear, the masses may vote YES!!!
I am just now seeing the exchange between Schumer, Cornyn, and Brit Hume....
If Chuckie could come off MORE condescending, I don't see how!!!
He already gave him a list of 70 questions....but they aren't gonna be "gotcha" questions according to Schumer...right...
I have seen Schumer in front of the cameras with some kind of speech or press conference every single day for a week....he must have to change his underwear a few times a day, with all of this MSM attention!!!
"So Chuckie is the latest willing "martyr" to carry Hillary!'s leftist Bush hating water. Bet on it."
Oh yes - BIG TIME (another reason they wanted to make sure he got re-elected last year)!! And, the MSM will help him greatly in that endeavor. Someone just said on FNC, he's the "point person" on the Roberts case. So now the Dims will have a 'point person' for each issue, eh? Oh, I get it, Turban Durbin is the 'point person' for Gitmo and AG. Guess they must have changed their plan of attack from the group 'point people' - - the Swimmer, Dingy Harry, Botox Babs and/or Eyebrows Pelosi raising their shrill voices on the Prez's appointments, during the hearings, and/or for anything the Prez and/or the Pubbie congresscritters want to do.
"He already gave him a list of 70 questions....but they aren't gonna be "gotcha" questions according to Schumer...right..."
Oh sure - Schmuckie was trying to sound soooo kind and resonnnnnnable (bleh!) (almost quote: 'I wanted to give him these questions in advance as I don't want to nail him or cause him to slip up'). Yea, right UpChuck, you're such a great guy, you just want to give Roberts a chance to answer (or not) your questions, then during the hearing you'll be saying something to the effect of:
Geez, I'm really trying to work with the Prez and the committee here, but Judge Roberts didn't answer more than 1/2 of my questions, so I'm going to have to vote No, because I just don't feel I have enough information to make an informed decision. And, since the WH won't release any of the documents that he wrote and are obstructing our progress, I just don't have any choice.
Chuckie - if you and your band of BS brothers hadn't voted against him during Bush 1, you would have had a lot more info. And, don't start trying to change what judiciary nominees now have to answer - there's the Ginsberg precedent - we're not going to forget it and we're not going to let you change the rules now (and the Pubbies on the judiciary committee better not either).
