Note the date (and credit goes to Howlin for finding this) that former CIA agent Larry Johnson wrote this:

July 10, 2001, Tuesday The New York Times

By Larry C. Johnson http://www.berg-associates.com/larryc.htm

WASHINGTON -- Judging from news reports and the portrayal of villains in our popular entertainment, Americans are bedeviled by fantasies about terrorism. They seem to believe that terrorism is the greatest threat to the United States and that it is becoming more widespread and lethal. They are likely to think that the United States is the most popular target of terrorists. And they almost certainly have the impression that extremist Islamic groups cause most terrorism.

None of these beliefs are based in fact. While many crimes are committed against Americans abroad (as at home), politically inspired terrorism, as opposed to more ordinary criminality motivated by simple greed, is not as common as most people may think.

And I still want to know if that Berg Associates is related to Nick Berg's anti-war father.

Juan Williams shows his true colors (no pun intended) as a racists/sexist: Roberts is now somehow unqualified because he's a white, male, Ivy Leaguer.

And he also came out and said that the fact that Roberts' father was an executive at Bethlehem Steel is part of the reason for his nomination.

I love when Bill Krystol gets snarky with Juan!

That was great. Juan does not think, even if you are brilliant, you should be elevated to the Supremes if you are a white guy whose dad was an executive and you went to Harvard. He thinks it is important to overcome obstacles in your life. Kristol brings up Clarence Thomas, thus pointing out the obvious hypochrisy of Juan's position.

Very revealing of Juan's total hypocrisy.

"I have a question. Is that Berg Association related in any way to Nick Berg's father. Nick Berg was beheaded in Iraq and his father was an outspoken critic of the war."

No - it stands for Business Exposure Reduction Group. Principals are:

- Larry C. Johnson (CEO and Co-founder)
- Robert J. Nieves (Owner and Founder): Special Agent for the DEA from 1969-?
- John F. Moynihan (Partner & Founder): Sr Mgr Big 6 Acct Firm (note: this isn't D.P. Moynihan's son - not sure if there is any relation such as a nephew or not).

Well, this is all incidental, I have no statistics, but
typically we work a 40 hour week, Managers and salaried employees often stay much longer, Many companies are trying ergo-friendly shifts like 4 12 hour days.

Here in the States a blue collar worker gets his 40 hours and hopes for 10 more in overtime. (usually 1.5x's hourly rate) 70 hour weeks are not uncommon.

That would make the ACLU howl! But I know what you mean! If you don't at least know who the VP is, you should not be allowed to vote! That would make someone both dumb and dangerous.

On Matthews Sunday Show, he put up a timeline graphic showing the contacts reporters had with Rove. His graphic only said, "Rove talked to Cooper", without the critical information that it was Cooper who called Rove.

It might be logical to conclude Rove wanted to pass classified information to Cooper IF Rove had instigated the call. But he didn't. Cooper called Rove. It's as if I plan to kill somebody, but only if they come over to my house, hand me the loaded gun, and wait for me to pull the trigger. Doesn't make sense.

Charles Krauthammer on FNC predicted that Judge Roberts will be more of an O'Conner who upholds precedent rather than a Rehnquist who rules on what the constitution says.

I disagree with Charles on this one. I think Roberts is more likely to be another Rhenquist, since he studied under and clerked for him.

I had taken great comfort from the reports that he was a member of the Federalist Society.

I'm not very comfortable any more. I'm afraid that he is only very pro business, and that's why W went for him.

The operative word in the previous sentence is ONLY. I do love the remarks he he made in the decision re the FROG.

As Brit said this a.m., he may have gone through his legal carreer making certain that he didn't disclose his feelings about any hot button issues. No speeches, no writings, no nothing...

I will be glad when this is all over, and we find out if we have found another souter or kennedy.
