The family of a Marine who was killed in Iraq is furious with Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll for showing up uninvited at his funeral this week, handing out her business card and then saying "our government" is against the war.

Now one knows what the term "empowerment" means.

how Democrates "Support the TroopsIt took decades for the libs to wake up and recognize the harm they were doing to their cause by their constant denigration of the military (they "loathe" them, in the famous words of Bill Clinton). How to correct that politically damaging perception? In their small little minds, it meant they had to find a way to make soldiers appealing...Voila! They're victims!
What the Democrats actually do is patronize military personnel, living or dead.
Pretty is only skin deep, ugly goes to the bone. The woman is bone deep ugly.
I would hope the Governor would be a little more sensitive, being an Army veteran himself. But then again, Kerry is a veteran too, so you can never be sure with these 'Rat politicians.
Don't you remember the Dem's behavior at Wellstone's funeral. They turned it into a circus.
Without having talked to her, the aide, who asked not to be named, said, "The family members of fallen soldiers are in our hearts and prayers. Our prayers go out to their loved ones in their hour of grief."
Asked to comment on Goodrich's complaints about Knoll's conduct at the funeral, the aide said that "would be inappropriate."
Note to PA business people and pols: Behavior like this will NOT be good for business.
It's Santorum's fault.
Seriously, the P-G is an outrageously lib, pro-Dem paper, so this is no doubt the "toned down" version.
Thanks, just sent the idiot an email.
They just gave themselves an unbelievable raise.
The more kicks to her @ss on the way out the door, the better!
Why are the voters in Pennsylvania supporting this stuff?
A typical Pennsylvania politician.
OK, I suggest we not only write to her, but also take other action.
First, we should all be writing to Ed Rendell. The message should be that if he doesn't denounce her and call for her resignation, it would be like acknowledging that he thinks it is OK for politicians to crash people's funerals. If he doesn't then do it, we can use it in the next election against him or his successor.
We should write Bob Casey and do the same thing, and if he doesn't call for her resignation we can use it against HIM in the next election.
I am not a big fan of making people "denounce" other ordinary people simply because they have the same party affiliation, but since this is an ELECTED DEMOCRAT LEADER I think it is appropriate to force other democrats who I'm sure campaigned for her and voted for her to voice their opinion on this.
THose of us who live in Pennsylvania (not me) should also start a letter-writing campaign to every newspaper in the state, highlighting HER actions and then whatever response or non-response we get from the other democrat leaders.
You've seen how the democrats play the game, with the major attacks on Senator Santorum for his comment about Boston and the Catholic Church scandal. Well, showing up at a Marine's funeral and pestering the mourners with anti-war slogans and your business card is an ACTION that is certainly much worse than the statements Santorum made.

I see 800 plus FReepers in PA. Perhaps a good FReep is in order here. Signs like, "YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE NEAR A HERO'S FINAL RESTING PLACE, TRAITOR!" would look fine plastered on the morning papers, wouldn't you say?
Asked to comment on Goodrich's complaints about Knoll's conduct at the funeral, the aide said that "would be inappropriate."
They seem to have trouble figuring out what "appropriate" means. Commenting AT the funeral was "inappropriate".
WTF?
I hope they sue the state, as she is representing the state in this capacity, and then I hope they sue her personally!
