Suspicious Man Stopped At Church Service(Claims Message From Allah)

GREENVILLE -- A man has attracted the attention of the FBI after an incident at a Greenville County church last weekend.
Sheriff's deputies said Iyad Abed Alnazli entered the Redemption World Outreach Center's morning service Sunday, and tried to approach the stage.
"It was a young man of Arabic descent who had come in and said that he had a message for the church and this was a word from Allah." church founder Ron Carpenter said Security officers met Alnazli before he reached the stage and stopped him.
"He became unraveled. He began to scream vulgarities out," Carpenter said.
When the officers escorted Alnazli from the building, they found he had left a briefcase in the foyer and parked his car in a church worker's spot against the building.
"And our first thoughts were, 'We have someone here who's unstable.' But the concerns grew when he began to talk all of the terrorist language, 'I want to do my job. I want to go back to my homeland," Carpenter said.

That is frightening. So is the story today from a Charlotte tv station saying that people seem to have been casing the city, taking photos of things like "natural gas pipelines, financial centers, underground parking garages and more." YIKES!

I honestly didn't know there was a large Muslim population in the Greenville area. I know there are some here in Raleigh but danged if I could find the mosque around here.

I debated the ping -- given that it took place in SC: but it's still a Carolinas alert. Raleigh is so huge. From what data I have, more of the mosques are located (near Raleigh) in the burbs of Raleigh.

I've been to a few churches in my time but haven't seen much security.
Is it a new thing or am I outa touch?

His car should have been blown up also, just to make sure it was not loaded with explosives.
With Howard Dean the dems have formally graduated from "disarray" to "debacle", with "irretrievable disaster" just around the corner.

This "redemption outreach center" is more like a show than church as most people imagine. The main guys that do the talking sound like pump-you-up self-motivation-tape ginsu-knives salesmen. Personally I find it ridiculous.
