I've been to a few churches in my time but haven't seen much security.
Is it a new thing or am I outa touch?
This "redemption outreach center" is more like a show than church as most people imagine. The main guys that do the talking sound like pump-you-up self-motivation-tape ginsu-knives salesmen. Personally I find it ridiculous.
Most large churches all have security in place--seen and unseen. This began about 5 years ago when a guy marched in to a youth worship service at Wedgewood Baptist in Ft. Worth, TX and killed a dozen or more people.
