President Bush met today with Australias President John Howard, welcoming him to the White House, after which the two had a joint press conference regarding the shared goals of our two countries in winning the War on Terror. First Lady Laura later attended an exhibition of Winslow Homer at the National Gallery of Art with Australias First Lady, Janette Howard and her son Richard.
It was also announced today that the President would be making a prime time announcement at 9:00 this evening to reveal the name (after much speculation), of his Supreme Court nominee to replace retiring Sandra Day OConnor.
From the look on the Presidents face today, it could be a fun announcement tonight! ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island, and the Daily Dose!!
Just wonderful pictures, women! Especially of Roberts. I was out of the house when the speech was on :o( so I missed seeing him in "person". But these are really good and capture the moment! Thanks for your hard work!
Do you think then there is a possibility she will hold on in the hopes that a Democrate is elected next time so that that does not happen.
It IS going to be a great summer . . . do you think they'll all have to give up their vacations to debate this??? AAWWWWWW . . . . LOL!
Did you see some people in front of the Capitol just minutes after the announcement, waving pre-printed signs saying something like "Extrordinary Nominee, Extrordinary Circumstances"? They were set to dispute ANYONE the Pres. nominated. What's new?
ohio--are you recovered from all the excitement in your family?
mystery--how's Brandon?
snugs-how's your dad?
Everyone, take care . . .
We're still recovering from the fair last week--kids did great, won showman(woman)ship with every species they entered--sheep, dogs, and cattle. FUN, but exhausting for mom and dad. As mr.h. says, "4-H is life!"
A Hoosier AND a 1955'er - WHAT a COMBO!!!
Took a look over at DU. The SCOTUS pick is a
cover for the Rove deal.
Funny, I thought there was on opening and the
liberal press kept asking him, when are you going
to pick someone.
These folks are going to have to try a little harder.
P.S. Did you hear the speech from PM of India, Singh today? Oh, MY goodness - it was MARVELOUS! "Terrorism anywhere threatens Democracy everywhere." --Just the tip of the iceberg on what he said. IT WAS GREAT!!!!! Go to his website and read the speech....fabulous.
PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH!!!!
We are so blessed.
No problem just a few right clicks and copy and paste the real thanks this evening go to Ohio not only for doing this thread but at the same time doing the prayer thread.
How long recess does Congress have our Houses of Parliament have 13 weeks.
CBS news were saying similar tonight. They said that he had brought the nomination forward a week in order to take the heat off Rove. What drivel the MSM dish out
The Dems will be so upset that the boy isn't clad in gang pants and wearing earrings....for a start. ha ha ha
God Bless President Bush!
Thanks for the link to the PM's speech . . . I'll print it tonight and read it in the morning!
Time for me to say goodnight . . . I advised over 100 students tonight and am more than a little exhausted!
GOD BLESS PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH!
I do send many thanks to you, Ohio, for giving us such a wonderful thread to enjoy!...and I guess the prayers worked, praise the Lord! Both of you tandemed those pictures beautifully!
Snugs, how is your Dad doing today? I'm kinda late getting here, and haven't had a chance to read everything yet. Hope he is improving while at home!
I see Ginsburg, Stevens, and Rhenquist retiring before 2009. I will bet the rent that Janice Rogers Brown will be nominated before 2009
Good Night DrDeb, It's been a great night for us :-)
