Clement, good. Jones, even better. Brown, better still.

To better steer people away from her I'd put out a table with free refreshments and set up an extra spiked punch bowl.

Folks, I'm a tellin ya all that our president is mind fuc*ing the libs and the lamestream media. I believe he despises them (rightfully) as much as they despise him (wrongfully).

He knows he is in the cat bird seat with this Rove nonsense and that in the end the moron tin foil hat types are going to once again be forced to extract their foot from their collective mouth. he knows he can get any nominee passed he proposes because the need is for only 2 or 3 of the gang of 7 to bail on the agreement and they have the nuke optiopassed if needed. I believe that required number has already said they would not allow filibustering based on ideology alone. I also think Rehnquist was asked by the president to hold off a bit on his announcement since the court is out of session anyway and a week or 2 or 3 won't matter. I'm sure Bush knows exactly who is other nominees are to be for Rehnquist and the other 2 who may retire before '08.

diane sykes, former WI supreme court justice.

For some reason, bush picked her for federal appeals court. Her replacement was picked by by liberal governor jim doyle, which turned the court from a conservative marjority to a liberal majority.

She is also the ex wife of conservative author and radio show host charlie sykes.

Be fun to watch Kohl & Feingold go apoplectic, after they both supported pulling her from Wisconsin's high court.

I think the media and congressional staffers just got the news of the "short list" of Edith Borwn, Edith Clemens and Maura Corrigan, and started speculating it would be Clemens... and speculation turned to rumor.

Imagine how the last 20 years would have been different had Reagan not misjudged Senate opposition to Bork. Rehnquist-Bork-Scalia-Thomas--a wall of Conservative power. ah, what should have been. (and Edith Jones instead of milquetoast Souter as #5)
