Blond Hair Found on Aruba Shore to Be Tested in Case of Missing U.S. Teen By Margaret Wever Associated Press Writer
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) - Investigators will conduct DNA tests on blond hair attached to duct tape that was found along the northeast coast of Aruba to see if it came from missing U.S. teenager Natalee Holloway, authorities said Monday.
A park ranger found the duct tape while collecting trash Sunday on rocks at Boca Tortuga, an inlet in front of a series of caves, said National Park Ranger Service spokeswoman Dilma Arends.
Boca Tortuga is on the opposite side of Aruba from where Holloway, was last seen in public.
The hair will be sent to the Netherlands for DNA analysis, said police spokesman Edwin Comemencia. Aruba, a Dutch protectorate, doesn't have a lab to conduct the genetic testing.
Extensive searches by Dutch marines, Aruban police, and some 2,000 volunteers have found no trace of the 18-year-old Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., who was last seen in public in the early hours of May 30 - at the end of a high school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island.
A volunteer group from Dickinson, Texas, that had searched for three weeks left the island on Sunday.

It's a terrible thing for this family....I'm guessing they will never know the facts about their missing daughter.
This just may be enough to finally find out what happened to her. For her family's sake, I hope so.
I recall they found duct tape on a tree early on in the investigation. Maybe this is a break in the case.
Seems like the body was wrapped in duct tape, perhaps with weights, and dumped off the far side of the island. That suggests that more than one person was involved in "preparing" and dumping the body.

Boca Tortuga......Turtle's mouth..........Appropos.....
If this hair turns out to belong to Natalee, it doesn't appear her death was "accidental" or some kind of drug overdose. Someone took the time to prepare her body before dumping it into the sea. I pray her poor family has some answers very soon.....AND that Fox News will move on to a different story. They've been obsessed!
Yeah, like the Father of one of the perps..
Yup!
Just curious, how does your speculation as quoted above suggest that more than one person was involved in "preparing" and dumping the body? It would seem that one person could have done as much without help.
Emily.
The sea is revealing it's secrets.
a million to one.
I guess it would depend on whether or not she was already dead.
Or unconscious.
I believe I also heard that there was duct tape in the trunk of the Joran Van der Sloot. Maybe this is the break they have been waiting for.
If her body was dumped on the far side of the island, somebody had to come up with a car and duct tape, to make that happen. That suggests but does not prove help from others. Remember, Scott Peterson planned it all out, including transportation and dispensing with the body. van Sloot, on the other hand, found himself on foot, half smashed, with a body to dispense with all of a sudden.
The hair stuff in my post is based on science. The help stuff is speculation, based on circumstances.

The duct tape will be the best clue is the hair is indeed from the victim.
Unless the actor(s) wore gloves when using the tape, there will be finger prints on the adhesive side. Exposure to sand, salt and water shouldn't hender finding any prints and may even preserve them.
I doubt VDS could have rounded up duct tape and what ever else he needed to weight body etc without some help from someone. Sounds like the dad MUST have been involved as all of this needed some planning/help etc to dump a body into the sea. I hope this will help solve this soon so her family can know something. Her mom is looking more frail every time they show her on TV. How could you leave knowing your daughter hasn't been found. Just awful!
