The Plot Thickens – Matthew Cooper lied.

Posted on 07/17/2005 9:50:46 AM PDT by Pukin Dog

If you did not see Matthew Coopers performance this morning on Meet the Press, you should have, because it gave away the plot for the attack on Karl Rove.

Cooper flat-out lied when he told Tim Russert that he first heard the identity of Joe Wilson’s wife from Rove. Rove never mentioned the woman’s name, only that Wilson’s wife worked for the CIA. He never said who that woman was.

Cooper, clearly under orders to keep the fake-scandal alive, told that whopper to Tim Russert, because without it, the story would die a quick death.

Remember what is going on here.

This is not about Rove, it is about the Supreme Court. The goal is not to just ‘get Rove’ as some are saying, but to create an environment where the Democrats can garner enough public opinion to begin arguing that George Bush should not be allowed to set the direction of the Supreme Court while under this cloud of suspicion.

The Democrats are working toward connecting the fake Rove Scandal to Bush, which can only happen after Karl Rove’s security clearance is revoked. If that happens, the Democrats can then accuse Rove of nefarious activities which he will not be able to defend against without the ability to either access or reference classified material. The Democrats want Rove’s clearance so that he can be framed.

So what you saw today, was the husband of one of Hillary Clinton’s main lieutenants lying on television to keep a dying story alive. Matthew Cooper is without credibility and should not be trusted.

Before anyone asks me, none of the above is the product of my personal opinion.

.....it is about the Supreme Court....

I have come to believe it is about a preemptive strike. Some Rats are in deep dodo and accusing Rove before hand is the "everybody does it" defense. The Rats will squeal bloody murder when one of theirs is indicted and Rove is not.

The Steele thing is small potatoes. Expand your thinking on this. Losing Rove would not prevent Bush from reshaping the Supreme Court. Nothing would short of impeachment. Therefore, you know the goal here. There is nothing more important to the Libs than the Supreme Court. The day after Bush was reelected, the Democrats started planning for his impeachment.

Can anyone get confirmation that Cooper's wife works for Hilary Clinton?

Yes she does, and regarding Judith Miller, she wouldn't be the first woman to rot in in jail for contempt just to protect the clintons, remember Susan McDougal?

The real solution to all this mess is to quit talking to reporters! When will we learn that they are NOT our friends.

No, the Steele thing is not small potatoes, it is just one example of targeting money. If the Dems lost 1 or 2 more senate seats, expecially to staunch conservatives in 2006, Bush will have an even easier chance for another one or even 2 supremes. The Freshmen class of Repubs senators are not yet jaded and seem to be still prinicpled in their efforts to get conservative ideas pushed through. Add a couple more"new bloods" to that mix and conservative have a better chance internally against the likes of the stale-blooded McCains and Dewines of the world.

Someone has to break the law before someone else can blow the whistle on it.

Nepotism and favortism in the CIA - Possible disclosure of classified information from Wilson's wife to Wilson.

"If you did not see Matthew Coopers performance this morning on Meet the Press, you should have, because it gave away the plot for the attack on Karl Rove"

Dog et al.....Cooper has sort of a wimpy persona and a deer-in-the-headlights look in his eyes I thought. He tries to come off as this 'Choir-boy aura' but methinks "Baby Hughie" Coopie is hiding some goodies amongst his cookies!

"For some, its as though I've got nothing better to do than share this stuff. I do it for two reasons. First, to let folks here know that no matter what they see in the press, things are being handled."

Whew! That's a relief. I was worried.

You've got Rove's back, huh?

LOL

"There is nothing more important to the Libs than the Supreme Court. The day after Bush was reelected, the Democrats started planning for his impeachment."

Never mind that this bogus scandal goes back to July 2003.

Nobody in their right mind doesn't realize this is all about hurting Bush, one way or the other.

What makes you think that is news?

The MSM still don't fully understand the power of the Internet and talk radio; they're only starting to realize that their old methods of forcing events by manipulating the news don't work any more.

No, there are still unaware of that; they're only reaching the level of befuddlement, wondering why the old tried and true bromides no longer work. Of course, they will serenely cruise on, continuing to employ these tactics to no effect.

When they see it STILL doesn't work, they'll blame Rove.

Never interrupt when your opponent is busy beating himself up.

Fake scandal?

Those in the intel community don't think it is fake.

They're pissed.

Is Valerie Plame her real name or a made up name?

As you tried to say in your previous post, it is an irrelevant detail. Whether or not she was a covert agent is one of the important, relevant details. She wasn't. Another detail, whether or not Rove thought she was covert and next, where he got the info he passed on to the reporters. Did he get it from classified intel or was he passing along gossip? Seems he passed along credible gossip. Finally, what was his intent for passing along the info? Did he do it as a payback to a troublesome whistle-blower? Did he lie to try to discredit a legit whistle-blower? Based on Cooper's e-mail, looks like he was trying to reel in some of the lies that were flying around fast & furious about the situation.

Richard Nixon is all Republicans, and all Republicans are Richard Nixon.

And Hillary Clinton's fingerprints are all over this "Watergate" clone.

This is not about Rove, it is about the Supreme Court. I disagree with this assessment. My own personal belief is that this whole "scandal" is the left's attempt at Watergate Redux. The goal is to bring President Bush down by either forcing him to resign or by impeachment and removal. Thankfully, the so-called "alternative" media (talk radio and the Internet) have been developed in the past 30 years to tell the truths that the MSM won't. As a thought-experiment, imagine where the Plame Blame Game would be right now, if the only sources of news and information available were those that had been available in 1973. The MSM still don't fully understand the power of the Internet and talk radio; they're only starting to realize that their old methods of forcing events by manipulating the news don't work any more.

"Nothing fails like success."

Having brought down a Republican President the MSM looks to do it again.
Because Republicans learned that "the coverup is worse than the crime" they toss out those who cross the line quickly.

Meanwhile the MSM and the bellowing democrats gloss over their own shortcomings again and again.

The public sees the hypocrisy and thus elections and ratings continue to decline.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

I'm not sure if Cooper lied about that, though is sounds like he left out some very key details. It is very possible for Rove to have been his *first* source. He could have easily filled in more of the story by using Marquis Who's Who, the CIA, a wedding editor in the local paper or someone else.
