The Plot Thickens – Matthew Cooper lied.

Posted on 07/17/2005 9:50:46 AM PDT by Pukin Dog

If you did not see Matthew Coopers performance this morning on Meet the Press, you should have, because it gave away the plot for the attack on Karl Rove.

Cooper flat-out lied when he told Tim Russert that he first heard the identity of Joe Wilson’s wife from Rove. Rove never mentioned the woman’s name, only that Wilson’s wife worked for the CIA. He never said who that woman was.

Cooper, clearly under orders to keep the fake-scandal alive, told that whopper to Tim Russert, because without it, the story would die a quick death.

Remember what is going on here.

This is not about Rove, it is about the Supreme Court. The goal is not to just ‘get Rove’ as some are saying, but to create an environment where the Democrats can garner enough public opinion to begin arguing that George Bush should not be allowed to set the direction of the Supreme Court while under this cloud of suspicion.

The Democrats are working toward connecting the fake Rove Scandal to Bush, which can only happen after Karl Rove’s security clearance is revoked. If that happens, the Democrats can then accuse Rove of nefarious activities which he will not be able to defend against without the ability to either access or reference classified material. The Democrats want Rove’s clearance so that he can be framed.

So what you saw today, was the husband of one of Hillary Clinton’s main lieutenants lying on television to keep a dying story alive. Matthew Cooper is without credibility and should not be trusted.

Before anyone asks me, none of the above is the product of my personal opinion.

I know you are hanging on to your SCOTUS theory, PD....but I still think this is about removing Rove. He's been seen meeting with Guliani and the libs know he'll likely agree to advise whoever the R candidate is in '08. They can't afford to be outwitted again....especially since it's for all the marbles (i.e., Hillary).

The desperate far-left continues to demonstrate their pathological lying. Creating a false reality if the core of their existence -- the Clinton mafia was proof positive of the gaining momentum of this perversion that keeps the kool-air drinkers at their side....along with the compicit MSM as noted in this shining example.

Open your eyes and ears America -- and wake up to the reality of the criminal left.

Since when have Democrats ever cared about the efficacy of the C.I.A. anyway? Suddenly they are the agency's great protector after having emasculated it in the 1970s.

You're right, and along the way the Dems want to damage Bush in any way possible. I don't see "trying to stop SCOTUS appointments" as being some shocking revelation, frankly. The Dems want to use Rove as one engagement in an ongoing battle--you don't have to be an insider to see that. And taking out Rove for the future would be a major victory, seeing how they wish they had their own Rove.

The Dems want to damage Bush in any way possible. Not only is this not news, it's a story that's five years old.

You are absolutely right that this is about the Supreme Court and the RAT effort to undermine any conservative nominee. But they are only damaging themselves by jumping in bed with Joe Wilson. Most Americans can easily see that Wilson is underhanded and greasy. His wife is a dirty bureaucrat who funneled tax dollars into her husband's African junkent so he could write "Bush lied" in the New York Times. Good grief, the RATS are so out of touch they think we have sympathy for dirtbags that scheme to undermine our troops during a war.

The Democrats are desperately eager to repeat their Watergate Putsch by bringing down a popularly elected government through propaganda fraud.

As the cartoon indicates, they've tried to nail Bush, Delay, Rove, and today there's a new push to nail Cheney's aide.

Their problem is that they just don't have complete control over the news any more, so it's much harder for them to tell Big Lies and get away with it.

The SCOTUS appointments are part of it, but only part. They want to weak or destroy Bush so they can get back into power, have more perks, distribute pork to their friends and relatives, and push their leftist agenda.

The press is eager to help them. Hell, they haven't had a good, chic cocktail party on the White House lawn or a fancy Hollywood dinner in the White House since Clintbilly left.

Its not about Rove, because they know that they have nothing on him, and that what he did would not have been illegal anyway. It is only an effort at undermining the President's authority. Just you wait. The drumbeat for tying this all to Bush will get much larger this week, because of Bush staying loyal to Rove.

None of it matters, because the Bush Administration knows exactly what is going on.

How many wives does Wilson have? I guess I'm lost on this. So what if he didn't say her name.....what's the difference between saying her name and saying "Wilson's wife".?

I'm glad someone remembered that.

Thanks.

For some, its as though I've got nothing better to do than share this stuff. I do it for two reasons. First, to let folks here know that no matter what they see in the press, things are being handled. Second, because the other side is watching too, and I like to hurt their feelings.

"You didn't ping me." "I told you not to tell me that."

Do you have access to a transcript of the whole exchange? Since Rove has acknowledged that he referred to "Wilson's wife," the critical question is where, when, and from whom did Cooper get the name Valerie Plame, and the description of her prior work at the CIA? Has that source signed a waiver?

Well, one thing we can agree on: they all hate W. But, he'll continue to govern and lead, despite their tantrums and scenes.
