The Plot Thickens – Matthew Cooper lied.

Posted on 07/17/2005 9:50:46 AM PDT by Pukin Dog

If you did not see Matthew Coopers performance this morning on Meet the Press, you should have, because it gave away the plot for the attack on Karl Rove.

Cooper flat-out lied when he told Tim Russert that he first heard the identity of Joe Wilson’s wife from Rove. Rove never mentioned the woman’s name, only that Wilson’s wife worked for the CIA. He never said who that woman was.

Cooper, clearly under orders to keep the fake-scandal alive, told that whopper to Tim Russert, because without it, the story would die a quick death.

Remember what is going on here.

This is not about Rove, it is about the Supreme Court. The goal is not to just ‘get Rove’ as some are saying, but to create an environment where the Democrats can garner enough public opinion to begin arguing that George Bush should not be allowed to set the direction of the Supreme Court while under this cloud of suspicion.

The Democrats are working toward connecting the fake Rove Scandal to Bush, which can only happen after Karl Rove’s security clearance is revoked. If that happens, the Democrats can then accuse Rove of nefarious activities which he will not be able to defend against without the ability to either access or reference classified material. The Democrats want Rove’s clearance so that he can be framed.

So what you saw today, was the husband of one of Hillary Clinton’s main lieutenants lying on television to keep a dying story alive. Matthew Cooper is without credibility and should not be trusted.

Before anyone asks me, none of the above is the product of my personal opinion.

So what if he didn't say her name.....what's the difference between saying her name and saying "Wilson's wife".?

In many liberals' eyes, womyn will reluctantly consent to marrying, but reserve the right to keep their own name (Hillary Broomstick Rodham, for example).

So saying that someone was married to Joe Wilson would not necessarily mean you could find her by looking up "Mrs. Wilson".

Cheers!

Marvin Kalb pulled "possible obstruction of justice" out of his tush on Fox today. Watergate is a template universal to the MSM. Like an old Prom queen & her husband, the quarterback of the HS football team, they keep trying to relive their glory days.

The difference is in not saying the name Valerie Plame, which supposedly was her undercover name. Simply saying Wilson's wife tells the guy nothing except that she worked at CIA , or do you think that telling someone that a person works for CIA is a crime? So far it is not.

Also, she was not undercover at the time. This whole story is a non-story and would never have been mentioned by the MSM if it did not envolve Rove. On top of that it has already been proven Rove didn't break the law but the MSM keeps on trying to shove it down people's throats.

Those in the intel community don't think it is fake. They're pissed.

Maybe because they've been reading the MSM accounts which don't point out that she wasn't covert? ...or the ones you hear from are the "politicians" within the CIA?

If they're "pissed", it is either because there are some big things still unknown, they are ignorant of what went on, or they are biased shills.

How many wives does Wilson have?

He has had three wives. Wilson obviously wasn't too worried about revealing her name, job description and address. One of them provided all of that with their political donations...

Someone has to break the law before someone else can blow the whistle on it.

That reminds me, did the CIA release Wilson to go public with his findings?

I agree Annie. It's all about Rove. The Democrats think he is one dangerous Republican. They think the rest of us are dimwits and Rove is the brain.

Well, it's hardly news that the Dems are trying to undermine the administration. They've been attempting to do so for five years now.

This seems like a statement of the obvious to me...

My apologies.

But I felt your previous 2 posts were a bit acerbic. Guess I read you wrong. Again, my apologies.

And welcome.

"Valerie Plame , 42 (bio)
CIA operative"

This part wasn't part of the FEC record. (Which doesn't show up at all in any FEC, if I recall correctly.) It was added by that website.

>>>>the critical question is where, when, and from whom did Cooper get the name Valerie Plame, and the description of her prior work at the CIA? Has that source signed a waiver?

The source is Joe Wilson, or Valarie Plame, or both... :)

So, I guess Karl Rove "leaked" her name to the website too?! He must have been a busy fellow "leaking" a nobody's name to so many so-called reporters. Maybe if Valerie'e ex-ambassador husband had kept his nose out of the CIA's business nobody would have had a clue who either of them were.

If Joe Wilson and his "double super secret spy" wife wanted to keep themselves out of the public eye I would think they wouldn't be attending a Clinton state dinner in 1999 with photos to prove it.

They are nothing but HASBEENS who think they are SOMEBODIES. Just why in the world would CIA keep a PREGNANT with TWINS "double super secret spy" undercover while married to an FORMER United States Ambassador?! Her former boss said that she was NOT covert from the time she married Joe Wilson! He also said that CIA was STUPID for sending Joe Wilson anywhere!

There's no plot. There's no evidence. There's no suspect. There's no crime. E-N-D O-F C-A-S-E. Botton line: no real mystery. Its not even a Washington political who dun-it.

I'm sure that site added that information after the Plame story hit the fan.

You'll get no argument from me that Mrs. Wilson was not a covert agent, nor had she been one recently enough to fit the "Agee" law.

And if she couldn't wait to tell Wilson she was a spy (which she did in a foreign country on their THIRD date), then I'm sure she's told plenty of people. But probably not Karl Rove or Scooter Libby.

If I had a farm I would bet that either she or Wilson or someone who worked with them or knew them had told this to Miller, and Miller passed this on to Libby on July 6, 2003.

And that's why Miller won't talk.

On reflection, I think you're right. It looks like Wilson's detailed discussion of "hypotheticals" with David Corn and published in The Nation IIFC, was the official outing of Plame. The other alternative is that Plame was outed by a member of the press who was in the dinner-party circuit with Wilson and Plame.

They were pretty active in suck-up suppers for those who are certain they're better than ordinary people. Democrats are defined by Alexander Pope's observation from three centuries ago, "They love mankind, but hate men."

Sure they would. That doesn't follow at all.

But she wasn't covert then. But even if she was, that wouldn't really be out of line.

No, the website added that. But the $1,000 donation in 1999 to the primary efforts of Al Gore is the legit FEC entry for "Mrs. Valerie Wilson" and shows her as employed by her CIA cover corporation.
