This is a very nice piece of work. My compliments to the author. Once again (no surprise) the New York Times is revealed to be a dishonest source of :news."

Wilson was, evidently, acting first and foremost as an agent of the DNC and the leftist media, and only used the CIA connection Valerie Plame got him as a kind of cover and to give his planned lies an official veneer.

I imagine that if all the facts came out, we would find that the proprietors of the New York Times took part in the planning meetings which set up this propaganda ploy, at the highest level, and that that is why their own reporter is currently sitting in jail, attempting to continue to conceal the fact that the Times was at the bottom of this whole leftist-instigated plot from the beginning.

It's their standard modus operandi. A small group of high media officials meets with a small group of Democrat politicians and plots out what the next propaganda assault will be. In this case, a double assault--that Bush "lied" about WMDs, and as a fallback when Novak let most of the cat out of the bag that Rove breached security.

What's evident is that these media slime gave Plame's name to Rove, not vice versa. It's becoming an old media trick: phone up your political enemy, have a brief conversation pretending to let him set the record straight, and then lie about what he said.

I had forgotten about it, but the author is absolutely correct!
Last year, when this was being cusses and discussed the morons at DU made the leap the Rove WAS on that plane (because he accompanies him everywhere, was their logic), so he was the leaker.
Not one DUmmy considered it could have been Powell.
Of course it's Powell - he's a DC insider, and this clearly explains why the Left who knew about the real leaker refused to name him (c'mon - you knew it wasn't Rove or Bush when Cooper had to wait a year to come up with the right excuse to name one or the other).

Why Can't The Gray Lady Read?

Comprehension is not the problem, it's the output that's incomprehensible! Put another way; if the Old Gray Whore were, say, Enron this would be called cooking the books. Which in fact they may also be doing given their precipitous decline on the stock exchange. Woof!

When the facts are inconvenient to your agenda and you ignore them, it constitutes a lie.
It is clear the Times is aware of the contrary evidence, so the term "lie" is accurate.
This is not the exception at the Times, it is policy.

It's sad to watch a once great publication continue its' slide from mediocrity to oblivion, but that is just what the NYT is doing to its' self. There is no one else to blame. How sad.

No one seems to understand the real NYT agenda here. It is the same as the other crapweasels, neocommunist, anti-American, scumbag, liberal dems, keep all information related to Willie's pre-9/11 contacts with Saddam, OBL and the Saudis as secret as possible.

Wilson is Willie's man. This is a diversion. The whole point is to build a label that will allow the left, every time some one finds evidence of Willie's criminality, to say "Oh, that was settled long OK."

The left today, does exactly that with the word "McCarthyism." They use it as a defense that overcomes any argument. Let some one investigate the extremist left wing words/actions of a celebrity or presstitute and the first defense is "McCarthyism," rather than a factual response.

It is a wonderful tool and one that the left wants to develop before proof of Willie's criminal acts surface.

Will somebody, anybody please follow up on this:

"The former ambassador was selected for the 1999 trip after his wife mentioned to her supervisors that her husband was planning a business trip to Niger in the near future and might be willing to use his contacts in the region ... "

WHAT kind of "business" did Joe Wilson have in Niger in 1999?? Was he buying livestock or onions??? Why did Plame later in 2003 suggest that he knew the Prime Minister and the Minister of Mines? Doesn't this suggest that Joe Wilson was involved in the uranium business? Who could possibly have been his clients?? Could his trip have been suggested by his wife so he could cover up the dealings his friends in Niger might have had with Saddam Hussein?? At the very least, was not his trip a gross conflict of interest?

Inquiring minds want to know!!

This whole thing has a dan rather, cbs type stink to it.

It's starting to look to me like the dems, wilson, his wife, the new york times and maybe even others in the mainstream media are trying desperately to pull off another rather-gate of sorts. Like the whole thing was cooked up even before the trip that wilsons wife arranged for him to go on.

It all just smells funny... like there's a skunk close by and you can smell a faint whiff of it... but you don't see it yet.

Like the whole trip and everything after is just a big set up by the dems. First wilsons wife gets him sent on a trip he's not really qualified to go on. And then he comes back and lies about what he found just so he can call President Bush a lier. And the dems jumped on that bandwagon and rode it for all it was worth. And then these reporters just happen to both call Rove and both change the original subject of the conversation to get Rove to say something, anything about wilson's wife. And the dems rode that one as far as they could. And now there is supposed to be some memo and they want to try to throw mud on President Bush?

This just has a dirty dem stench all over it. Especially with the media ignoring facts and still trying to push lies. It just stinks like the media, the dems, and wilson have all been in on cooking the whole thing up from the start.

Remember, how in rather-gate mary mapes was found out to have been in touch with the kerry campaign? Well, this stinks like that.

I sent an Email to Rush on Wednesday suggesting that the leaker was the MSM darling Colin Powell, who Bush has already sacked.

Of course, when that is proven correct it will not be the main MSM story, because he is not their target.

In fact, I imagine that is why Judith Miller is not talking. Powell was her source and either Miller or Powel gave it all up to Novak.

I suspect that everyone of any importance at the NY Slimes already knows all that, but in their evil hatred of Bush they will continue to slime Rove as long as they can.

Then, the story with the truth about Powell will be up and gone in 24 hours and people's memories will in the long run reflect the length at which the two stories were front page - Rove was guilty.

They're Pravda on the Hudson and they do it every time.

And, certainly, Joe should be fried.

Could minor Ambassador Joe Wilson himself have been the source in blowing his own Wife's cover?

It is distinctly possible, (though it may be unlikely that Joe Wilson himself directly was NY Times Judith Miller's source), since Joe Wilson himself evidently routinely bragged openly to strangers about her CIA employment, prior to such "cover" being "blown" in the press.

Here's an example of Joe's apparently routine and open bragging about Valerie being a "CIA agent," which became known directly to me over a year ago:

He certainly bragged about it per a famous and highly reliable source's (named below) account of his own face-to-face encounter with Amb. Joe Wilson prior to Valerie Plame's "outing" as a CIA agent/employee.

Based upon a personal conversation (we were in a small group eating; it was NOT an "off the record") I had with eminent historian Victor Davis Hanson (we were at a luncheon table together during a trip to Europe), it appeared entirely possible that Joe Wilson himself was the (or one source, if not the original one) possible source in revealing his own wife's status as a CIA agent or employee.

Victor Davis Hanson (Wilson presumably knew Victor Davis Hanson wrote regularly for NRO (National Review Online), had done OpEds for the Wall street Journal, and other publications, and had his own Website with a widespread following) said he (VDH) & Joe Wilson were both in the same "Green Room" before a televised debate-discussion on Iraq, etc. and Joe first warned the TV make-up person not to get powder on his $14,000 Rolex watch, then he bragged to Victor about several things (possessions and trips to Aspen, etc.), like his expensive car (I think it was a Mercedes), and then bragged about his beautiful wife who, Joe Wilson said (braggingly) was a CIA operative.

I asked Victor Davis Hanson Why he didn't write up this account.(?) He replied that Joe Wilson would probably simply deny it, since only he (VDH) & Joe Wilson were in the Green Room together before the broadcast.

However, it is now easy to surmise that Joe Wilson is a crass, materialistic, self-promoting, vain, egotistical, bragaddocio-opportunist, so this account is perfectly consistent with Valerie Plame's TWO photo shoots in Vanity Fair. (Or was it Vogue? No, probably too crass for Vogue, n'est pas?)
