Laura Ingraham gets buzz cut, still knock-out gorgeous [vanity]

After her second round of chemo, Laura bowed to the inevitable and got a buzz cut and a wig named Wanda. It's typical that the hair loss kicks in about 2 weeks after the first treatment. I know because I had my sixth chemo yesterday.
I'm so jealous that she still is so beautiful without much hair! I'm 48 and reasonably attractive but me without hair is not something anyone would want to see, believe me :-)

Hang in there T! I did the chemo routine and the radiation treatments and the bone marrow transplant. I am cancer free for 13 years, 9 months.
Never forget that, even if you don't know our names or faces, there are friends you haven't met yet who are praying for you!

I have never for a moment doubted that I will beat this thing. I didn't even ask the doctor my statistical chanced because what difference does it make? Fifty/fifty? I'm in the good fifty. One in ten thousand? I'm the one. This is just a crappy detour in my life for the next year.
I made a remark about rather dying from this than have anyone in my family do anything in my name that involved the Susan G Komen foundation. I was shocked to learn that this upset them terribly, this talk of dying. It never occured to me that I might (well, not in the next 50 years anyway) so I was surprised to discover they were afraid of it!

They don't know you like you do!
For me dying was not an option.

That is so true. When I had to be hospitalized recently, My closest family members (all that could) rallied to My bedside, and all family squabbles were at least temporarily set aside. The prognosis was not the best, and there was a lot of soul-baring and tears among the family as a result. Even some of the nursing staff shared some private moments with Me to express their concern, bless them. My mum took it the worst, and I remember laughing (not in a bad way) when she told Me how worried she was. I told her I was not afraid to die, as we all had to sooner or later, and that I had someone waiting for Me on the other side that I loved very much so there was no reason for trepidation as far as I was concerned.
I knew the family would not take it well, but I was at peace with the possibility that I might not survive. I remember, My last conscious thought before the anesthetic pulled Me under was "Well, here I go."

I don't think its her fiancee, I believe that is her "friend and right hand man" on the radio.
I believe her boyfriend left when she was diagnosed.

My family was the same until things settled down and I made the comment about the Susan G Komen thing to my liberal family, and all heck broke loose. You would have thought that asking them not to donate or run in my name meant I was turning my back on all treatment and volunteering to die! For heaven's sake, I said, just donate directly the the American Cancer Society and be done with it, or run in the Komen race for the cure if you like, but leave my name out of it.
I love them all dearly, but am glad sometimes they live far away :-)

One of the guys in the photo is identified as a "James". Don't know which one or it it is her former fiance.

Well, I'm off to a friend's BBQ wedding reception wearing my unnamed wig, khaki shorts, and a blue T-shirt with bold pink lettering that says in big letters across the chest: "Best Hair, class of 2003"! Hee, hee, found it at Old Navy and couldn't resist.
