It doesn't look good for Karl Rove (John Dean of Nixon fame chimes in)
CNN ^ | 7-15-05 | John Dean

Posted on 07/15/2005 12:10:50 PM PDT by Indy Pendance

(FindLaw) -- As the scandal over the leak of CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity has continued to unfold, there is a renewed focus on Karl Rove -- the White House deputy chief of staff whom President Bush calls his political "architect."

Newsweek has reported that Matt Cooper, in an e-mail to his bureau chief at Time magazine, wrote that he had spoken "to Rove on double super-secret background for about two min[ute]s before he went on vacation ..." In that conversation, Rove gave Cooper "big warning" that Time should not "get too far out on Wilson."

Rove was referring, of course, to former Ambassador Joe Wilson's acknowledgment of his trip to Africa, where he discovered that Niger had not, in fact, provided uranium to Iraq that might be part of a weapons of mass destruction (WMD) program.

Cooper's email indicates that Rove told Cooper that Wilson's trip had not been authorized by CIA Director George Tenet or Vice President Dick Cheney; rather, Rove claimed, "it was ... [W]ilson's wife, who apparently works at the agency on [WMD] issues who authorized the trip." (Rove was wrong about the authorization.)

Only the special counsel, Patrick Fitzgerald, and his staff have all the facts on their investigation at this point, but there is increasing evidence that Rove (and others) may have violated one or more federal laws. At this time, it would be speculation to predict whether indictments will be forthcoming.

Dean is a day late and more than a dollar short. Karl Rove isn't in trouble. Joe Wilson may be.

Uh oh, the NYT pooped (guano for those in Liberal Blue America)all over Time Mag.

Is is just too much for all of the liberal media to get on a conference call with one another so that when they are planning to run a lie (Dan Rather's story of "Bush's Draft Memos)? That question is really rhetorical, considering the low IQ scores of most of them.

Doesn't look bad, either.

(I heart Karl Rove.)

John Dean .... John Dean .... Didn't he used to be somebody? CNN .... CNN .... Didn't that used to be a news network of some kind? A brief glance shows that this screed by Dean on CNN cobbles together a number of factual lies, as the basis of a false conclusion.

But neither the author nor the network were trying their best. This so-called news article contains far less lies per sentence than the press release this morning by MoveOn.org on the same subject. Now those folks were dedicated to championship lying.

I guess fewer people will take either Dean or CNN seriously tomorrow, than they did today. Well deserved ignominy.

I thought he'd actually done it. I thought Dean had actually written an entire piece without mentioning Watergate. It took until the very last word, but hey...

I don't know if anyone has noticed? (sarcasm) but it hasn't looked to good lately for CNN either.

Their left wing ideology has sunk them into oblivion

At this time, I would be speculating if I called this tripe
and "article".

Say, you think that Dean/Liddy deathcage match would be on
pay per view?

Who has less credibility now, is it Newsweek, CBS, The NY Times, etc. or the hacks that drink the kool-aid?

How embarrassing it must be for anyone to admit they work at one of these cesspools.

I think Cooper needs to be put on double secret probation.

He can't . . . there's no room left.

Wrong, Mr. Jailbird...there is increasing evidence that Rove did not break the law. And Mr. Obstruction of Justice, there is increasing evidence that says Miller is guilty and is therefore serving the same amount of time you did.

Haven't seen it. John must be in possession of leaked grand jury evidence. (I doubt it.)

There is increased speculation that evidence of a crime exists. That's usually not good enough for an indictment.

I think I'l write to Bush and ask him to give Rove a raise. I want to see John Dean's head explode.
