I'm bad about watching that sort of thing, because in 17 years of owning this house, we've never even had street flooding.
Years ago, one of my sister's lived off Fourth Street, out near 80 something, and even when it would rain hard, you couldn't get to her house because of flooded streets.
We're fortunate, but the on and off ramps to the interstate do flood, as do the intersections on 34th and 6th street south, so if we had something major, we'd be stuck in our neighborhood, but we'd be high and dry, LOL.

Nothing but green coming up I-75 now, and it looks like it stops around Griffin. We should get a breather. That's just the first band.

"What happens to vinyl siding in a Cat 4 storm? Just curious."It blows down the street with the rest of the structure. Florida homes are now built by code for 130 mph winds. :-(

Fortunately, I have a two story house here. When the winds are really bad, I am downstairs. If flood water ever threatens, I'll go upstairs...

Wow, the winds must be really bad in New Orleans. Look how much it messed up that Fox reporter's hair.

AAM is talking aboutthe rain in Atlanta at the moment. There is a sub-discussion about the baseball game being played in a downpour. They're in the top of the 6th, with the Brewers leading the Braves 4-2. There was a stoppage for about a half-hour while the grounds crew put dirt out on the mound, around home plate and across the infield.
Mind you the rain has picked up even more-so in the last ten minutes.
I'm guessing they'll call it shortly.

I was watching one satellite loop and the storm did indeed appear to take a jog to the north. However, if you watch the movement of the eye... that's still steadily heading northwest.

Thank you for the prayers, they seem to be working for N.O. We don't expect much more than TS winds unless it goes into the Mississippi coast. I am more worried for my best friend in Mobile county, near Citronelle. The eye might go right over or to the west. Please pray for her.

Heard on the radio today that there are about 40,000 homes in Florida that haven't been repaired from last year....you are going to be busy for a long time!
