Tancredo peddling his message in Iowa

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Rep. Tom Tancredo started barnstorming through eastern Iowa on Thursday, talking immigration to religious conservatives and stepping up his flirtation with the 2008 presidential race.

The Littleton Republican arrived in Moline, Ill., then made the short drive across the Mississippi River into Davenport.

Iowa is home to the first presedential caucuses in 2008, and Tancredo wants the big-name contenders to take up his crusade to stop illegal immigration.

"If you don't approach this thing as if you are completely serious, you can't accomplish any goal," he said.

Did you know that there were a sizable number of FReepers who actually believed up to election day that Buchanan would win the election in 2000? And even though he only got four tenths of one percent of the vote, many of those same FReepers believe today that Tancredo will get elected. They don't even have the shame or pride to be embarrassed by their naivety. They'll do the same thing in 2008.

Case in point, white guy's reply #38 of this thread.

From Tancredo Suggests DeLay Resign

Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) said yesterday that it "may be a productive move" for House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) to step aside while charges against him are investigated, but added that he believes the accusations are "trumped-up charges" by Democrats.

Tancredo issued the statement after the Denver Post quoted him as saying that although he does not favor ousting DeLay, "If he chose to resign as majority leader until these matters are resolved, that's probably not the worst idea."

What a stand-up guy.

Well, you know, I think the charges that Tancredo is a racist are "trumped up" but if he resigned from the House, "that's probably not the worst idea."

Border security during the administration of President George W. Bush is a joke, just as it was a joke under President Bill Clinton.

Several of the Islamic terrorists who murdered over 3,000 American were illegal aliens as a result of their visas having expired. Why were they allowed to remain in this country illegally and help in the murder of over 3,000 Americans? Why hadn't these illegal aliens been deported?

Cong. Tom Tancredo is a true patriot and a true conservative.

In March 2005, Cong. Tancredo received the "Taxpayers' Friend Award" from the National Taxypayers Union (NTU). According to the NTU, Cong. Tancredo was given an "A" rating by the NTU for being one of the strongest supporters of responsible tax and spending policies in Congress. Here is a link to the NTU's list of "2004 Taxpayer Friends": http://www.ntu.org/main/page.php?PageID=75 . Cong. Tancredo ranked twelth (12th) highest in the entire House of Representatives in NTU's ratings.

In May 3, 2005, Cong. Tancredo received one of the "Best & Brightest" awards from the American Conservative Union (ACU). The ACU recognized those members of the U.S. Congress who recorded a perfect score of one hundred percent (100%) in the ACU ratings. Here is a link to the ACU's web page with photos of May 3, 2005, ceremony at which the "Best & Brightest" awards were given: http://conservative.org/pressroom/bestbrightest.asp . The ACU ratings are based on how representatives voted during twenty-five (25) votes. Cong. Tancredo achieved his perfect score with none of the votes having anything to do with immigration.

I wonder how many other potential residential candidates have received a score of one hundred percent (100%) from the American Conservative Union.

Isolationism is not an option.

Why not? Isolationism with trade between countries, with restrictions, seems to be the best way to maintain cultural values, security, and stability. If corporations make less profit (less people to exploit and all), so be it. I'd rather see people live comfortable lives than what seems to be evolving globally now.

"That is because he is nothing but a clone of Buchanan. He runs on the race card and attacks fellow Republicans every chance he gets."

Good, he's got you worried enough to attack him at every opportunity.
By the way, he only attacks RINOS that are for ignoring ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

"Anyone who doubts that Tancredo is nothing but Pat Buchanan's sock puppet is blind."

Anyone who doubts that bayourod is nothing but Vincente Fox's sock puppet is blind.

I believe that is more accurate.

Here is a link to a membership list of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus: http://tancredo.house.gov/irc/members.html . Cong. Tancredo is chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus. There are seventy-nine (79) Republican members of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus and three (3) Democratic members of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus.

"If you don't approach this thing as if you are completely serious, you can't accomplish any goal,"

Strange quote from Tandcredo.

If you were serious Tancredo you would say that you want to accomplish "this" goal, not just "any" goal. If you were serious Tancredo, you would approach this thing "seriously", not just "as if" you are serious.

Hillary would love to see a half-ass run by Tancredo. Tancredo's campaign could do the most damage to this country if he loses the Republican primary and then runs as an independent -- never actually winning, instead just splitting the vote.

It was totally stupid. If every Republican stepped aside everytime a RAT made an accusation, it would cripple all Republican lawmakers. It's the same as surrender.

Right you are granny.

"Yeah like being totally serious running to the liberal media cameras and saying Tom Delay should resign."

I was very outspoken in my criticism of Tancredo in his gratuitous cheap shot at DeLay. But here's the problem: it's getting a little late for republicans to jump on board about the borders crisis. To do it now is to be phoney. They've gotten an earful from constituents and talk radio. So who is pro-safe borders, and pro-life, who will run in 2008? As far as I'm concerned, time is running out.

The last thing I want is another insider crammed down our throats! I'm sick of all this BS that the insiders have been throwing at us. I want change! For the internet to take charge of 2008, we need to act early. We need time to build up a link network, email network, to get search engine positioning, and to have a thorough vetting.

You should be intelligent to know that Tancredo is acting as the front man for Pat Buchanan.

Why else would Pat's sister be chairing his political organization, doing his political scheduling, and speaking on his behalf on matters concerning his political campaign.

Why else would Pat's webmaster be the webmaster for Tancredo's organization.

Pat Buchanan no longer has the credibility to sucker third party type wackos into sending him money by telling them he's going to win the Presidential election, so he's using Tancredo.

Instead of complying with the Federal Election Commission rules and setting up an official exploratory campaign committee to receive contributions and make expenditures legally, they are accepting contributions through Bay Buchanan's website organization and not reporting them as political campaign contributions.

A lot of money can be made by someone running for president if they aren't really trying to win.

" founded to advance tougher enforcement of immigration laws."

"We will have somebody who is committed to the (immigration) issue" on the presidential ballot in 2008. "

Ok, so you are not for tougher immigration laws?

What is this infatuation you have with PB and the Messicans....?

"I agree. The reason he will be a third party candidate is because they can continue to raise money and get federal matching funds all the way up to the day of election.

But surely you are not so naive as to believe that he can win the Presidency as a third party candidate are you?"

Who cares....as long as he gets his message heard. If the RINO's and k00laid drinkers don't get their $h!t together by then, let them suffer defeat...either get the borders in order...or lose in the elections.

All in.

And... for you nutcases who have some delusion that Hillary will make it as Pres...you're only fooling yourselves.

"Who cares....as long as he gets his message heard."

Because the rest of us and our candidates will have to endure the idiocy of another vanity candidate and his politically suicidal supporters.

Does being a third party wacko excuse a person from having the basic integrity not to take money from people by telling them he is trying to get elected president when he knows that he's only in it for his vanity or to promote his website organization?
