July 7, 2005 — U.S. authorities tell ABC News that British police have recovered two unexploded bombs from the scene of the terror attacks in London.

In addition, British investigators say that parts of timing devices have been recovered from the blast scene that would have been used to detonate an explosive device. This could provide evidence that would help determine who was behind the attacks, sources told ABC News.

The fact of actually having a SOP for a bombing chills me.

DS: Is there any reason today's attacks occurred on the day G-8 meeting began? GJ: No, it's not linked in my view. It is more likely that the beginning of the court trial of Abu Hamza that is the reason. A war has been declared on the UK.

It wasn't EMP. The Brits simply shut down the transmission and repeater arrays. That just takes a notification to the carriers by a simple code.

this reminds me of the freedom fries thing. How many people blow themselves up while trying to 'minimize' civilian casualties while in urban areas? I haven't read about any suicide bombers detonating themselves in rural areas with no one nearby...can you point out some cases of the 'property-only' suicide bombers who don't want to hurt other people?

It's out on DVD now you know...

Hmmm. I'll have to check to see if it's available on Netflix. We're watching the old "Reilly: Ace of Spies" series right now.

I keep wondering if the plan was to bomb whichever city got the 2012 Olympics.

If that's the case, I hope they're looking for unexploded devices in Paris and the other cities that were hoping for the Olympics. If these things were hidden inside the Underground, someone would have had to put them there before yesterday morning.

PTL, two of them didn't go off. A small blessing in the big picture.

The only positive that can come out of this is that it will stiffen world resolve, before something bigger and worse happens.

In other words, they will not have died in vain?

Good thoughts, but I can't help but to think that the bus bombing was an aberration. It was the very last one to go off, and a while after all the other ones, and it was alone as far as buses were concerned. My thought is that for whatever reason, that terrorist was late to the train bombing party. By the time he was out and enroute, the town was like a kicked over anthill from the other blasts, with a chance of success of bombing any more trains severely remote to non-existent. I think "Abdul" lost his nerve, but not wanting to be a total failure in the eyes of his compatriots, went ahead and did his thing, whether it be going out in a blaze of suicidal "glory", or setting a timer and fleeing to save his sorry a$$.

Has anybody said where these other bombs were found? Were they strategically placed to seal the tubes shut?

Then why did Congress Democrats demand another vote giving Bush unlimited authority to do what ever was needed to defeat Terror, including going into Iraq?

I think you have been listening too much to those hate filled dummy-crats - their hate blinds them to the truth and the facts!

Haven't heard anything as of yet. And if those undetonated bombs were found on any buses, it could be a solid indication of a plot to do the buses also, but something went wrong with the detonation -or- that some Islamokazis lost their nerve while enroute to do dirty work to the trains, ditched their payload and headed for the hills.

yes, but the conspiracy nuts will say, "well, that means it was planned." Look, I know what she meant, and I believe either the religion of peace did this or the IRA, but she could have chosen better wording.

I like Condi and think she was probably having an off day. I give her the benefit of the doubt.

"I spoke with a colleague this morning who is from London. She said that this morning none of the cell phones were working. Could this be because of the new technology that we have (I assume the British too) where we can put out an EMP of sorts that turns off the cell signals."

It's done either by overpowering the cell phone frequencies with noise, or else by just turning off cell towers in an area.

"EMP would've destroyed everything in an area electronically that wasn't shielded...highly unlikely."

more than that - you'd need a faraday cage.
