A terror group linked to al Qaeda says it carried out a series of terror attacks on London that have left a number of people dead and hundreds injured.
A previously unknown group calling itself "Secret Organisation al Qaeda in Europe" said it carried out the attacks as revenge for British "military massacres" in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Two London hospitals have reported a total of 185 wounded after a series of blasts hit locations across the city on buses and Tube stations.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair said there was evidence of explosives at at least two of the six sites.
Scotland Yard has denied reports they were warned of an attack by Israel minutes before the blasts.
Two people have been confirmed dead and at least 90 people injured in the explosion at Aldgate Station.
Prime Minister Tony Blair, issued a joint statement from all the leaders at the G8 summit.
"This is not an attack on one nation - it's an attack on all nations and civilised people everywhere," he said.
"It's important however that those engaged in terrorism realise that our determination to defend our values and way of life is greater than their determination to cause death and destruction to innocent people."
Witness, Angie, saw the bus explode in Russell Square. She said: "There were a whole lot of people around the bus. Next thing I was on the floor and there were a lot of people on me.
"I thought I was going to be crushed. The bus was ripped out at the back. It must have been a bomb."
The entire Tube network has been shut down and police have confirmed blasts at four sites: Russell Square and King's Cross Underground; Moorgate, Aldgate, and Liverpool Street Underground; Edgware Road Underground; and Tavistock Square where there has been a confirmed explosion on a bus.
One witness said the packed underground train he was on was 200 metres from King's Cross when there was a huge flash.
The train stopped and people were using umbrellas to smash windows of the trains. Passengers were led out of the train by underground staff.
He added people were milling around King's Cross covered in soot.
A previously unknown group calling itself "Secret Organisation al Qaeda in Europe" said it carried out the attacks as revenge for British "military massacres" in Iraq and Afghanistan.
BUT I thought Iraq has nothing to do with the GWOT? The left keeps telling me this, and they'd never lie about something like this...would they?
I think it is a time when they thought they could kill and maim the most people, it being the heart of rush hour.
Well, hopefully the people won't concede to demands.
Zulu,I like your style...Let's start keeping the media out of things and start eliminating slowly and quietly!
Somehow I don't believe liars when they speak. Secret! Bah! My left foot. I think that claiming 'secret' and 'previously unknown' could very well just be a psy-op tactic being played.
Seven bombs exploded in London on the 7th of July
Magic Code is "7-7-7"
Significant Warning Posted Here !
The warning was about something about to happen underground . . .
Colour me unimpressed. All right, 2 people have died and there are over 100 injuried. Well London sustained night after night of much more devastating bombing from the Luftwaffe and we didn't fold. As a (former) Londoner, I regard these people as idiots if they think we're going to obey their demands on the basis of this attack.
Quite the contrary, I want them dead.
Regards, Ivan
No you forget one which the Democraps would love to see happen.
#4. Refuse to convert, refuse to fight, and be slaughtered.
Does anyone know the passenger capacity of a London subway carriage?
I hear that. On Sept. 11 I walked nearly the length of Manhattan (about 20 miles) to get into the City when transportation was stopped.
Their infantile logic is breathtaking.
Yes, but when they do it again, the claim of responsibility will come from the "Double Secret Organisation al Qaeda in Europe."
Our prayers and our hopes are with Britain today. PM Blair, for all our disagreements with him on other policy, has been an incredibly (and to me, surprisingly) stalwart and dependable ally since 9/11/2001, and I think we all know what the British people are capable of when properly, ah, motivated. We're with you.

We are with you, GB! We stand with you, we grieve with you, we will fight beside you as you have for us.
I could see the concern on our president's face and know the sincerity in his heart. He speaks for us.
Condolences for your losses.
Convert ourselves to fascist police states and surrender our personal freedoms.

Well they were hoping Algore would win... then they would have waited longer. But they probably saw Bush get in and panicked. But that's the nature of evil... "nudge nudge nudge" toward the cliff and then in the excitement of anticipation of bloodletting they skip to "Pushtoofarblowyourcover"....
And it is heading this way, my friend.
O Lord our God arise,
Scatter her enemies
And make them fall;
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
Oh, save us all!
I wondered how soon they'd blame the President for this. Actually, I rather thought Teddy (the swimmer) Kennedy would be the first to say that "if only Blair hadn't befriended that scoundrel Bush" this would have never happened, yada yada yada.
