GROUP CLAIMS ATTACKS
Sky News ^ | July 7, 2005 | Staff

A terror group linked to al Qaeda says it carried out a series of terror attacks on London that have left a number of people dead and hundreds injured.

A previously unknown group calling itself "Secret Organisation al Qaeda in Europe" said it carried out the attacks as revenge for British "military massacres" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Two London hospitals have reported a total of 185 wounded after a series of blasts hit locations across the city on buses and Tube stations.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair said there was evidence of explosives at at least two of the six sites.

Scotland Yard has denied reports they were warned of an attack by Israel minutes before the blasts.

Two people have been confirmed dead and at least 90 people injured in the explosion at Aldgate Station.

Prime Minister Tony Blair, issued a joint statement from all the leaders at the G8 summit.

"This is not an attack on one nation - it's an attack on all nations and civilised people everywhere," he said.

"It's important however that those engaged in terrorism realise that our determination to defend our values and way of life is greater than their determination to cause death and destruction to innocent people."

Witness, Angie, saw the bus explode in Russell Square. She said: "There were a whole lot of people around the bus. Next thing I was on the floor and there were a lot of people on me.

"I thought I was going to be crushed. The bus was ripped out at the back. It must have been a bomb."

The entire Tube network has been shut down and police have confirmed blasts at four sites: Russell Square and King's Cross Underground; Moorgate, Aldgate, and Liverpool Street Underground; Edgware Road Underground; and Tavistock Square where there has been a confirmed explosion on a bus.

One witness said the packed underground train he was on was 200 metres from King's Cross when there was a huge flash.

The train stopped and people were using umbrellas to smash windows of the trains. Passengers were led out of the train by underground staff.

He added people were milling around King's Cross covered in soot.

We're with you as always. The Brits are tough and have endured attacks of cowardly means since the indescriminate killings by V1 & V2. The IRA is a shell of what it once was, and these animals will be defeated in time.

Please counter any future "Peace" demonstrations with Koran urine-soaking demonstrations outside of pubs, staged next to the Koran burning demonstration in front of any London mosque.

" How many people who rushed out to buy American flags after the attacks still fly them today? Or even know why?"

What the terrorists pukes don't understand is that they've just reminded us why, in a way no one can ignore. I suspect Londoners are eyeing Muslims in a very different way today.

Lord Jesus we come to You in sorrow today. Our London brothers and sisters have suffered losses from evil sources. We ask that you protect them from further harm, heal the injured, comfort them and guide the investigators and the medical staff in the work they have before them. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

America stands with you Britain! YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Do these ragheads really think they can make the Brits cower in fear when the Brits withstood Hitler and the bombings? This is not Spain ragheads, and Britain will not turn from what must be done to stop you. You ragheads are collectively pieces of shit!

The appeaser's will wait a few days/weeks and then be at it again. You know the Dem's, Lib's, MSM and muslims in west. A heavy hand must be used against such treason.

It is time to visit Saudi Arabia.

Now, now, you shouldn't say such things - President Bush has repeatedly said Saudi Arabia is our friend and ally in the WoT, and he knows more than we do, right???

Maybe now Blair will focus on terrorism and give bailing out African despots and the kyoto "get America" scam a rest.

It was at Kings Cross in the tunnel on the way to Russell Square when we crashed, this was approx 8.50. I remember looking at my watch at Kings Cross and that was 8.48am. It was an almighty thud then a flash of light. The carriage filled with smog and could smell dry burning almost like sulphur, we were covered in black dust and couldn't see let alone breathe. Thought we were going to die in an explosion. We were left for approx. half an hour. One British Transport worker walked down the track and informed us we would be evacuating and walking through the tunnels. Luckily my carriage had no casualties but we saw people from the front carriages being bought from the front. They were a mess. No one was telling us what was going on, it was only by word of mouth that I heard about Euston and Liverpool St, then I knew we had been through an explosion.
Laura, north London

This is like watching 9/11 all over again. Sitting on the other side of the world in South Africa watching and reading events as they unfold and being grateful to know that my family are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been affected by this terrorism. May those responsible receive their just deserves.

On Old Marylebone Road (near to Edgware Road tube), a church opens its doors to the police and fire services to use as a base for their operations. Marks and Spencer provide trolley loads of food for the police and firemen as they continue their rescue operations.

This morning has been so busy at work, as I am on switchboard so many relatives have been calling in to see if people have got in ok. Everyone in the office are all so shocked of this tragedy after we had such great news yesterday of the
Olympics. My condolences goes out to anyone who has had relatives seriously injured.
Amina Bawamia

Completely shaken up by the whole incidence.
I normally walk down the same road at the same time of the bus explosion. I got the early train from Wealdstone to Euston. I work on the corner of Russell Square. I heard a big bang and seriously I thought it was thunder. Then I heard police cars I went out and saw the bus in complete pieces I couldn't believe my eyes. I think it's going be ages before I actually get on a bus or train now.
Prima Patel, Russell Square

I work in Tavistock Sq, the bus exploded outside, and the building shook, they are now using our foyer for casualties, but there are lots of very sick people, with arms and legs missing. We are not allowed out of the building.
Lynzi-Alana Ashworth, central London

When we heard about the blasts this morning I called our sales rep who works that area to see if he was alright. He said that he was watching Sky News at the moment and was thanking his lucky stars. He was supposed to be meeting a client just round the corner from Aldgate station at 9.30am. Thankfully the client had emailed him early morning to explain that he could no longer make the appointment. It looks like it was a blessing in disguise, as he would have been caught up in it all. Our prayers go out to all involved.
Joe Lillie, York

At work at the moment. Everyone is worrying. There have been too many incidents happening in the last few minutes. The building next to ours have been evacuated but we have been told not to be alarmed. Everyone is keeping cautious.
Mosleh Chowdhury

I'm based in Clapham not far from Clapham Junction station and we could hear the bangs from here. The thoughts of our office are with everyone affected by this.
Martin Barton, Clapham, south-west London

All OK with me, but was in Liverpool Street Underground on the platform disembarking my Circle Line train when the blast happened. Felt the force of it and heard it it at 08:50, then evacuated quickly, could see dust and smoke coming down the tunnel. Very scary.

Ivan, I heard a statement from the Mayor of London about an hour ago. I normally have no use for "Red Ken", but his statement was great IMHO.

"What the terrorists pukes don't understand is that they've just reminded us why, in a way no one can ignore."

If only that were true. I followed the DU link, they are engaging in moral equivalence and directing every ounce of anger towards President Bush. It's easy to see how stupid they are, and yet, very scary. They represent a segement of America. There are people who think that way... it's sad, and it will make defending ourselves a war on two fronts.

Ivan,

It's time for a reprise of that fabulous Newsweek cover from the Falklands War: The Empire Strikes Back. (Too bad the picture is not available.)

Mrs. Dahoser and I send prayers and support.

It's just that whenever something bad happens, right away some here are ready to start shouting it's the end of the world as we know it, and we're all going to die. Do people expect the terrorist too just sit there and say come kill me? No they're going to counterattack. But they are losing and will continue to lose, because they have nothing to put forward but going back to say 1109.

it carried out the attacks as revenge for British "military massacres" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The truth is that the vast majority of Mohammedans killed in Iraq have been at the behest of other brands of Mohammedans.

But don't confuse them with the facts.

From what I have seen the people of London have kept their wits about themselves, which must be very intimidating for the vermin responsible for this. I hope this galvanizes the world against these "Goat Shaggers" (I just love that one.
God bless!
