There has been an explosion at Aldgate East underground station in London, causing the closure of the entire Tube network.
There are also reports that a second incident took place at Edgware Road station in north west London.
The Aldgate East blast was caused by "some kind of power surge", according to Tube infrastructure company Metronet, which is responsible for maintaining the Metropolitan line.
A spokesman said: "We don't know the extent of the problem yet."
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We have just sent some resources out to the scene."
British Transport Police confirmed that there are "walking wounded" and said paramedics have responded to one report of a person classed as "life at risk".
"It's chaos, with people trying to work out what has happened," said a spokesman.
"All we know at the moment is that staff reported a loud bang at 8.49am. No one is sure what caused an explosion, but it is thought it could have been a collision, a power cut, or a power cable problem."
One witness said the packed underground train he was on was 200 metres from Kings Cross when there was a huge flash.
The train stopped and people were using umberellas to smash windows of the trains. Passengers were led out of the train by underground staff.
He added people were milling around Kings Cross covered in soot.
My neighbor's dogs were barking this morning for no apparent reason, and they never bark like that unless there's some kind of noise in the area. I've concluded that mid-eastern society is pathological. Terrorists blow up cars and string corpses from bridges. No one tells the little kids to go inside, to not look at this violence. Instead they are encouraged to join in jumping up and down on the dead. Young women who become suicide bombers to redeem their honor or to deal with the "shame" of disfigurement. Palestinians who cut out the organs of freshly killed Isreali soldiers and run with them in hand, screaming and yelling through the streets. The list goes on ...
I was just listening to the news while cleaning yesterday, so I can't say who reported this, but it was a report about the "explosives" that accidentilly blew up TWA 800---
and the reporter was asking why nothing had been done to make sure that didn't happen again...
I thought --- of course nothing has been "done", it was a terrorist that did it, and the Government and airlines know it!!!

Sky News are reporting an source from the French Ministry, that they have been told 50 dead.
In an separate matter, Channel 4 here has run an story, in which they have said that 40 people alone were estimated to have perished in the bus bomb, according to Police sources.

Well FoxNews is reporting that it was a Homicide bomber in at least one case. Let me see if I can get any more. Scotland Yard may have had him under surveillace or something, it's a smaller country then ours.
