There has been an explosion at Aldgate East underground station in London, causing the closure of the entire Tube network.
There are also reports that a second incident took place at Edgware Road station in north west London.
The Aldgate East blast was caused by "some kind of power surge", according to Tube infrastructure company Metronet, which is responsible for maintaining the Metropolitan line.
A spokesman said: "We don't know the extent of the problem yet."
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We have just sent some resources out to the scene."
British Transport Police confirmed that there are "walking wounded" and said paramedics have responded to one report of a person classed as "life at risk".
"It's chaos, with people trying to work out what has happened," said a spokesman.
"All we know at the moment is that staff reported a loud bang at 8.49am. No one is sure what caused an explosion, but it is thought it could have been a collision, a power cut, or a power cable problem."
One witness said the packed underground train he was on was 200 metres from Kings Cross when there was a huge flash.
The train stopped and people were using umberellas to smash windows of the trains. Passengers were led out of the train by underground staff.
He added people were milling around Kings Cross covered in soot.
"Yes, per Sky News."
Thanks!
Thank you. I was in bed and something woke me up and I decided to turn on the computer and this post was the first thing that I saw. I am here, alone at my son's house in AZ.
"Everything went black and we collided into some kind of oncoming train.
"There was debris all over the trains. They evacuated us."
If a bomb, it sounds like it blew at least one of the trains clear off of its track.
BBC local radio staff in RUSSELL SQUARE are talking about a bomb in a litter bin. this may be confued with the double decker bus that appears to have exploded im the russel square area.
sit v confused. similtainious 'incidents' happening all over central london.
its possible that some are terrorism and some just freaky coincidences
I called my husband and he is saying that he thinks that it's time for my son to come home, just cut his trip short.
Markets dropping fast (global reaction)....

CBS radio news just said that there is a second subway, 4 miles away that had a blast 45 minutes after the first.
Someone said the first could be electrical, but the headline that I first saw and the radio said 'explosion', i can't open the site with the article.
Radio says there are deaths.

CNN: Scotland Yard confirms a total of seven explosions.
Well unless the bus that blew is an electric trolley, that sure sounds like it has to be something worse than a power surge.
It is an attack.
ty cindy . . . amazing stuff
The power surge theory seems to be dissipating.
CNN reporting Scotland Yards says 7 explosions - 6 subway, one bus
Yes, London has suffered a terrorist attack today.
Edgeware Road, Kings Cross, Liverpool Street, Russell Square, Aldergate East, and Moorgate. Plus the bus, toen apart.
Seven explosions in all.
I think that that may be a good idea, Eva. Again, I'm so gald to hear that he is OK.
There are only two types who would do this -
Islamic Extremists or Irish Terrorists.
