Indeed, maybe that foolish Schumer cell call was the final nail in the coffin. Hannity mentioned the call but I missed what Graham said because I was on the phone.

He could not have made it more clear on the air today.

Agreed. He couldn't have more clearly stated that if the filibuster is used based on a nominee's legal philosophy, and not qualifications, character, or ethical questions, then he would fully support the rules change.

I wonder if this is what he told Schumer on the cell phone or just Hannity on the radio.

Don't forget doug, Lindsey Graham is a lawyer. They lie effortlessly, and also. Graham knows his voters are keeping an eye on him, so he can't say anything to further anger them.

I wasn't listening to Hannity. Did Hannity ask Graham about Schumer's captured phone calls today? Or the now known fact that Graham spoke to Schumer today? Schumer caught dissing the Gang of 14. Did Hannity ask Graham to discuss that?

Do ya think Lindsey has gotten the message?

Those dang conservatives nipping at his heels and sending unflattering emails and faxes.

Which of President Bush's nominees have not been qualified? Personally, I think they have all been more than qualified. Please tell me which unqualified candidates President Bush was pushing, according to Graham or anyone else?

Yeah, right!

Talk is cheap.

Show, don't tell! Do, don't talk.

Bets are, the republicans will fail....again.

"Graham will support the Constitutional option if the DemocRATS try to filibuster a qualified candidate because of ideology.

Graham noted that it was not done with Scalia or Ginsberg. It has never been done that way."

Nominees for Appeals Court slots had never before been filibustered based on ideology either.....well, until the Seven Dwarfs caved in. So, why would the reasoning be different this time? All that needs to be done is to convince him again that the Republic needs to be saved by 7 knights in white armor.

Schumer is an idiot! I loved the cell phone call -- showed the 14 what is really up! Poetic justice if it backfired on Schumer!

I agree! I'll believe it when I see it! Anyway we would need two of the Rino's to peel off. Maybe DeWeeny, would have a spine also. Why do I doubt that last statement?

That makes 49. Two more and Frist can pull the trigger, unless the VP gets to vote on a tiebreaker for rules change. Does anyone know?

Dewine will likely be the other RINO. His son got hammered in the primary in milliseconds. Amazing how fast it happened.

McCain is the admiral of his own little bathtub navy. He's past his career expiration date.

He and Schumer were talking about another matter on which they were working. I called Graham's office after I read about the incident, and they had indeed read about the call.

We'll see. I believe he will do what he said today on the radio. I will apologize if my assessment is incorrect.

If Republicans aren't prepared to stop a RAT filibuster, all the tough talk won't matter much. Like you, I will await the Republican response. I hope I'm not disappointed again.

Graham will support the Constitutional option if the Democrats try to filibuster a qualified candidate because of ideology.

Weasel words. Expect a sell-out. He is really saying that he will only support the Constitutional option if the candidate is "qualified". What would make a candidate qualified or unqualified in his eyes? Does he expect there's a possibility that an unqualified candidate will be nominated? Of course not. He's just leaving himself wiggle room.

Was it stupidity or hubris that caused Schumer to make a call in a public place where it could be heard?

O'Connor has announced. Rhenquist will probalby be next. Ginsburg is reported to be in less than good health and Stevens is 85 years old.

Wouldn't it be great to think that you could send a case to the Supreme Court and know that the judges would rule on what the Constitution meant when they wrote it instead of this "living document" and "laws of other nations" crap?

He made it clear that ideology does not make one unqualified. I missed part of the conversation because I was on the phone, but he might have mentioned criminal activity as a disqualifier. (Hey, that would disqualify most of the DemocRATS.)
