Was it stupidity or hubris that caused Schumer to make a call in a public place where it could be heard?
Good question -- jury is still out on this one. I think he is stupid though and his attempting to best the junior senator from NY makes him make dumb moves. I also think that neither of the NY Senators have a lot of political savvy, e.g. Hillary waving the newspaper rag around on the Senate floor about when Bush knew -- never forget that one.
That said think it is a toss-up but it sure backfired if he was trying to stir the pot! Looks like an idiot if he now says he didn't mean it -- I think he got carried away and forgot where he was up to but I notice Republicans are not taking the bait just in case. Better to let Americans see Schumer as a Senator out of touch with reality!
Recall if you will the Floridia couple and the Radio Shack device that recieved and recorded a cell call that was given to Rep McDermot.
