Two of the four US special forces soldiers missing in eastern Afghanistan for almost a week have been found dead, US military sources have told the BBC.One was found alive on Saturday, but the whereabouts and condition of a fourth team member remains unclear.
The governor of Konar province has spoken of reports that an American is being cared for in a remote village.
The US launched a major hunt for the men after a Chinook helicopter sent to find them was shot down last week.
The 16 US soldiers on board the helicopter were killed.
Meanwhile, the US military has said it regrets that civilians were killed in an air strike by US forces in eastern Afghanistan.
Women and children were among 17 killed in the raid on Chechal village, Konar province governor Assadullah Wafa said.
Oh Lord.. have mercy. Be with those whom loved these, be with our nation.

"Meanwhile, the US military has said it regrets that civilians were killed in an air strike by US forces in eastern Afghanistan."
Yep. The BBC just HAD to add that little tid-bit in there, didn't they?
Well, two found alive, two dead, one still missing. Keep praying!
Damn.
Oh no.
The enemy's family is HIS responsibility to keep safe...
Those that wish to make war -- don't hide under their children's bed when the SHTF....
Semper Fi
the "civilians" living in those mountain hideouts are the family members of the taliban - tough luck.
still no word on the targets - who exactly was in this mountain hideout? how do they know that "civilians" were killed - this implies we've had some kind of ground based recon on the bombed sites?
Thanks for the ping TADSLOS !
Stay safe .....
Let's continue to take a wait and see on this. Reports aren't always correct. (regarding the possible two dead SEALs).
You're right. It may be true, but I'll wait for confirmation ... and keep praying.
Snort.
Prayers for our troops, their families and friends.
US military sources have told the BBC.
Have they told the American media this?
The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away.
Prayers for the loved ones of these two brave men.....
As I read it, we've recovered one alive, two dead (assuming this sad report is true), and there's one more apparently (not yet confirmed) being treated by Afghan villagers somewhere.
are we not bombing the crap out of Pakistan? The bad boys are in the area....
time to level the real estate.
Because of our tenuous relationship with Pakistan, I suspect. Furthermore, there has been some bridgebuilding between Pakistan and India; but not enough.
