Toronto Long harboured Canadian resentment of Canada being annexed by the United States took a 90-degree angle on July 1 with Frank McKenna, Canadas Ambassador to the United States, turning the tables. McKenna says he will organize the more than 1 million Canadians in the United States to lecture Americans.
McKenna, whos already sent messages to 6,000 expatriates, intends to get in touch with 100,000 of them by weeks end. The rookie ambassador is pressing the "Canadian diaspora" to arm themselves with facts, to debate Americans and to get out and lobby when Washington makes decisions that can hurt Canadians, says the Toronto Star.
Fighting the U.S. on its own soil, albeit by stealth, McKenna is calling to action Florida snowbirds, northern exiles in Arizona, Hollywood comedians and actors, investment bankers in New York and professors and students at universities across the U.S.
The ambitious ambassadors first salvo was launched on Canada Day within days of Americas 2005 Independence Day.
The Prime Minister Paul Martin-appointed McKenna blames Fox News for his battle cry.
Referring to what he calls the "Fox Factor", McKenna told the Toronto Stars Washington bureau chief, Tom Harper that Fox "often spreads disinformation and feeds a negative perception of its neighbours to the north."

And this just in from Frank McKenna, Canadas Ambassador to the United States, "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..."
Well, that's an idea. Canada to annex the US. Hmmm, I'm not holding my breath.
Ambassador McKenna isn't the brightest bulb in the Christmas Tree. There is a reason why they left Canada, mate, and it wasn't just because they were tired of snow...
LOL
Careful McKenna will mobilize against you...
McKenna seems like a very beligerent fellow.
How quaint.
Organizing activism againt a host country where they moved to voluntarily?
As the Canadian sitting nearby says, "I don't think so!"
Let's leave the stealth invasion to the 7th century cult, shall we?
Hey Frank McKenna, get a clue! Why do you think there are so many Canadians living in the U.S.? They, like me, are voting with their feet! You idiot! Canada needs to remove the log in her own eye before trying to pull the mote out of America's eye!
Perhaps they ought to arm themselves with the fact that America has fought more wars with Canada than with any other country: the War of the League of Augsburg (1689-1697), the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714), the War of the Austrian Succession (1744-1748), and the Third Silesian War (1754-1763), as well as the War of the American Revolution and the War of 1812.
One could therefore argut that Canada is America's traditional enemy--even though in the first four of these wars, we were English and they were French, and in the last two, they were English.

We had to live with him as premier of New Brunswick for a few years. He introduced video gambling terminals to NB, something for which a lot of people still haven't forgiven him.
If you're referring to me, I wouldn't say I busted your chops ... and I'm not a true supporter of McKenna's, he is a lib after all. However, he has made a few INITIAL steps in the right direction. Having said that, I DO NOT agree with his rallying Canadians living in the US or taking on FOX.
My beef with you and others in the thread you noted was that McKenna was being misrepresented. He did not say that Americans were hypocritical and selfish, he was referring to R-CALF ... period. He is well connected with many in the US including the Bush family, he is not anti-American and he will not hold back on pulling the trigger with smug Canadians. This and the fact that he has some sand makes him different than your run-of-the-mill Canadian liberal.
Now, will he be successful as the Canadian Ambassador to the US? Time will tell.
I didn't mean to misrepresent your intentions, and I hope no offense is taken.
Actually, the U.S. and Canada have never fought a war aganst each other. Canada didn't exist as a country until 1867. Any conflicts that did occur were against the British in British territories, or other powers, but not Canada. The U.S. and Canada have been either allies or friends for most of the life of Canada. Also, some of the wars you described were not fought by America, either, since the U.S.A. did not come into existence until 1776. Those wars were fought in colonial North America by European powers.
None at all ... and no worries. : )
As I mentioned in my post, We were English and Canada was French during our first four wars with each other. During the last two wars, we were independent as of 1776, and they had become English as of 1763.
