Attention all Freepers. My son-in-Law's unit in Iraq, the 141 Washington Artilary, has been alerted and will be monitoring this thread. We need to let them know how much true Americans (Freepers) appreciate what they are doing. Our goal is 1,000 messages posted here. Please help us make it happen.
You guys take care of the bad guys over there, and we will take care of the idiots over here.
Thank you for what you are doing, and for all your sacrifices, we know how hard you are working.
amen and god bless from vegas
Thank you all for the sacrifices you make for our freedom.
We're proud of you and we pray for you every day.
I'll help to get to that number. It's our Independence Day, and I can eat at a family barbecue, go into a large crowd to watch fireworks, then come home and sleep soundly.
It's our military men and women who make that possible. We can't thank them enough.
And the amazing thing is that they are helping people in other countries get the same quality of life. America has the best young people in the world. And they are teaching others how to get to the same place. I don't know that we deserve to have these great young people, but I do know that we are blessed to have them.
Last evening my husband and I watched our son's summer league team play baseball in Petersburg, Va., and the park was hosting "Military Appreciation Night." There were probably close to 200 young men and women in BDUs there - most very young, probably my son's age (20). After the game, there were beautiful fireworks.
I watched with fascination all night as these young soldiers enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Many of them bought snowcones and icies, and two came close to winning a new car! They cheered outstanding plays and booed unpopular calls. During the fireworks, their faces were upturned with awe and excitement. Near the end of the evening, all of the other fans applauded the military guests.
Watching them, I said a prayer of thanks for all of our brave men and women, most especially for those in Iraq and Afghanistan. I also prayed for the safe return to families for all.
Thank you, brave Americans, for all you do to keep us safe. God Bless.
(Sorry so long. This is my first post.)
Today, July 3rd, family and friends gathered for a wonderful get together. Good food, good friends, warm family thoughts.
During our barbecue, we stopped, raised our glasses, and toasted YOU, the brave men and women of the USA Armed Forces. We said a prayer for you and a few tears were shed.
Without your sacrifice, we would not have the freedom to get together with friends and family.
You are loved, respected and admired by far more Americans and people of the world than the media portrays.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do:
Thank you for protecting myself, my wife and my children.
Thank you for protecting our extended families.
Thank you for protecting our freedoms and our country.
You are true heroes in every sense of the word.
God Bless our troops and our country!!
Yes, God bless and protect our men and women in uniform in harm's way on this Independence Day.
Take care, stay safe, and come home soon! I can hear explosions as I sit here typing, and because of the security provided by people like you I never have to doubt that it's celebratory fireworks.
Thank you so much for the hard work you are doing to give us the freedoms we enjoy.....Please take care, all of you....from a Marine's wife that fought in 2 tours in the Vietnam War.....
Thank you to all of our brave men and women defending our country. Thank you for doing what you do to protect us.
