"It's "hypocritical in the extreme" for a "very selfish" U.S. ranching group to keep blocking Canadian cattle when Americans now have a homegrown case of mad cow disease, Ambassador Frank McKenna said Friday."
Friday Mr McKenna said that we were "very selfish" and "hypocritical in the extreme" for trying to protect the beef ranchers from Canada's tainted meat.
Doubt it. The Canadians vote the wrong way. That's the fault of the people.
Definitely in Toronto I think.
You know, he was appointed by the Canadian Liberals, and he must think like what his boss in Ottawa does. If not, how does he end up in that position?
Definitely
One may think this, but it's not that clear cut in this situation. When McKenna first started his term, he spoke in the US about Canada taking part in the BMD. He no sooner confirmed that we were in, when Dithers pulled the rug out from under him. McKenna is a smart man, but this stunt by Dithers made him look foolish.
To start off with, McKenna was talking about R-CALF and NOT the American people.
Second, we don't have tainted meat. Two instances of Mad Cow does not an epidemic make. Show me one report of a Canadian, or an American, falling ill to our beef. Scientifically, our meat is still extremely safe in regards to Mad Cow and the contraction of BSE by a human.
Yeah. I watch it every so often. But I really get most of my news from blogs these days.
Translation
Progressive = Communist/Socialist/Social Democrat/New Deal Big Government liberal
They've sullied the other names so they are trying to have a new one now.
;)
We do NOT have tainted meat. Two cases does not make an epidemic. America has its own cases (a few were in the news recently, more than just the one) that it develops on its own. Its actually us Canadian conservatives who are really sore over the meat thing. It violates all our trade agreements and it appears to me (maybe its not) that its just the product of a selfish cattle trust. Not even the normal ranchers, but the corporate ranchers.
The only land the federal government needs to own is for military bases or other Constitutionally mandated federal departments, such as courts (which we could use a lot less of), post offices and border security zones (which we need a lot more of).
"...the Fox News Channel, America's most popular cable news network..."
Heh, heh!!! MY favorite part of the whole article.
Who is Terrance and Phillip?
Any State land should be leased from the states on a continency basis.. The federal gov't should NOT be a vested land owner.. since the federal gov't is a mental construct and not a real "thing" at all.. The fed has zero citizens..
Actually, this guy sounds like he's doing what an ambassador should be doing. Note that he's also telling his countrymen to lay off saying the stupid stuff that should and would get a lot of press.
McKenna is just wasting more money and time on stupid things like the Canadian Liberal gov't wastes time and
money doing studies on immigrants gaining weight after
living in Canada for 10 years. Lol....
I do have to agree that McKenna makes alot of good points...points americans should be aware of.
But I watch fox news and the fact is they only lambast
the CBC, Canadian Left wing media and rejects such as
Carolyn Parrish. Everything they say about these three things are bang on. I could not see McKenna disputing this.
On the same side of the fence I would like Fox news to
pick up on some more crap that smells up here..namely...
gay marriage, multiculturalism favouring minorites over
the majority, official bilingualism, refugees, preference
for minorities and french speaking people to get the best
gov't jobs with the best pensions (regardless of their I.Q)
and some other things.
Fox news should promote the things McKenna says.....and they should also mention more of the things I just said.
Mabye this will prompt some changes over time since Fox
reaches such a large audience.
Who knows?
Terrance and Phillip are a very potty mouthed duo, a show within a show on South Park, and they are Canadians. In South Park Bigger Longer Uncut, their bad mouths cause a war between the US and Canada.
I think Canadians themselves are working on a war....
The writing here makes me sick.
