George Stephanopoulos joined the growing left-wing chorus this morning, pushing for the Supreme Court nomination of Alberto Gonzales on his weekly Sunday show.
In a cleverly worded question to Newt Gingrich, Stephanopoulos asked if it would be better for George W. Bush to go ahead and nominate Gonzales for the O'Connor seat, or appoint and appease the conservatives with a "hardliner" now, and appoint Gonzales at a later date.
Cokie Roberts and Walter Dellinger, the other two panelists on the Stephanopoulos show whose liberal voices were necessary to balance out Gingrich, both pushed for either Gonzales or a nominee who has held elective office. Cokie Roberts liked the idea of Elizabeth Dole, probably because she is an aging "moderate".
MoveOn.Org can save themselves a lot of advertising money by pulling all of their TV ads. The network talking heads are carrying the water for the advancement of a liberal agenda and, as usual, it's very transparent.
I'm stocking up on essentials so I won't have to go out when Bush starts a firestorm by nominating someone the liberals will hate. It's going to be a helluva show and I don't want to miss it!
FNC was just pushing Gonzalez TOO! Hatch was being interviewed.
He is even MORE unacceptable now.
Gee why doesn't the media just start pushing Bork so all the old psycho groups go crazy.
Can anyone imagine ABC eventually hiring Carl Rove for the same position? Nope.
All anyone has to do is watch George Stephanopoulos and James Carville in the documentary "The War Room" to see who George Stephanopoulos really is. He has absolutely no business running a supposed "news" show. His only qualification is that he is a little guy with a big head and that looks good on TV.
BTW, high-def TV is not kind to a lot of these old farts like Kennedy. What an ugly thing he is.

Gonzales is anti-second amendment and (Pro-choice) anti-life. Enough said about him.
Cokie Roberts also proudly revealed this morning a conversation she once had with Gerald Ford. She said that former President Ford was not ashamed of his appointment of John Paul Stevens, who has been one of the two most reliable liberal voices on the present U.S. Supreme Court.
Ford told Cokie that he was proud of the appointment, because Stevens has "such a brilliant legal mind."
Funny thing is, as I recall Gonzalez was supposed to be the devil incarnate when the libs opposed him for Attorney General. Can someone give me a very quick primer on why Gonzalez is now unacceptable to conservatives? I'm guessing abortion.
Better get your .50 now if Gonzales gets in.
I wish I were as confident as you that Bush would nominate a true conservative. This appointment will speak volumes about our President. As far as I'm concerned, he better throw us conservatives a bone. He needs to make up for his dad's screw-up appointment of Souter.

Sure, sure were going to appoint an elected Senator in a State where the rats have a chance at the seat. I think Justice Janice Rogers Brown should be given the bump up so to speak. Her views on socialism are on par with my own and that is saying a mouthful! She is a Justice that "gets it" when it comes to the social engineering being conducted both covertly and overtly by the left.
We ended up with ultra liberal Ginsberg and Breyer from Clinton and they sailed through without protest. Republicans get an enormous fight with every one of them...unless it's a Stevens or a Souter of course.
The smart money right now says it's going to be Garza, a justice on the 5th circuit who's reliably conservative. His nomination would serve 2 purposes. It would shore up the conservative base and also put an Hispanic on the court.
Gozalez was not supported with fervor by conservatives.
Essentially, he was the expedient choice.
Notice how he has done NOTHING of relevance?
Ashecroft at least had impact and character.
