Funny thing is, as I recall Gonzalez was supposed to be the devil incarnate when the libs opposed him for Attorney General. Can someone give me a very quick primer on why Gonzalez is now unacceptable to conservatives? I'm guessing abortion.

Gozalez was not supported with fervor by conservatives.

Essentially, he was the expedient choice.

Notice how he has done NOTHING of relevance?

Ashecroft at least had impact and character.

In addition to the other things mentioned so far, he was a board member of one of La Raza's affiliates, and still considers himself an ally of La Raza.
