See? They look for reasons to fret and worry. Typical lefty PC crappola. "Let's make it a problem before it becomes one!" I'm so entirely sick of their pessimism, anxiety, and depression. They want everybody to be miserable like they are. Argh!!
Any mention of brain offends the liberal left.
No one is an "epileptic". Some people have epilepsy, or acquire epilepsy. First thing to remember is that you are not immune.
""Arn't people with epilepsy supposed to be on some island in the Pacific? "
Just curious, if people with leprosy are lepers, then why aren't people with epilepsy called epilepers? :)
Those selfish epileptic people need to be more sensitive to the needs of smarmy, self-righteous NEA busybodies.
The offendee is probably somebody without much of a brain, period. Hard to have a "brainstorm" without one.
If you really want to offend an epileptic, flash a strobe light in their face.
If it was a tongue and cheek satire story...I would have added the humor key word. Unfortunately, this ridiculous story is true and we can indeed laugh at these british liberals. As an epileptic myelf, I never even connected the word brainstorming to epilepsy until I first read this. These idiots overthought the idea that during a seizure there is an "electrical storm" of sorts going on in the brain. It's almost like a short circuit. Leave it to liberals to find ways to make people feel offended.
It is probably the same UK crowd that is trying to get the word "couch potato" replaced as it offends vegetarians.
July 1, 2005
"Weird TV news of the day: British farmers are protesting - and I mean really protesting, with signs and everything - the use of the word "couch potato." They think it makes the potato seem like an "unhealthy" food. They held the protest in Oxford, England, because the protestors had written a letter to the Oxford English Dictionary asking that they reconsider their listing of the word and the definition they used: "a person who spends leisure time passively or idly sitting around, especially watching television or video tapes." They want the term taken out and replaced with the term "couch slouch." "
I also have seizures and I thought it was funny.
I am deeply offended that someone seems to believe the term "brainstorm" offends me.
It's honestly not an insult to call a person with epilepsy, an epileptic-a person with diabetes a diabetic-a person with arthritis an arthritic-a sightless person blind-a non-hearing person deaf-a voiceless person mute, etc., etc., and is seldom taken as an insult by the victems of those conditions.
It's just that the paranoid homosexuals who demand we call them gays, the liberal Democrats who insist we call them progressives, the pro-abortionists who demand we call them pro-choice,the pro-terrorists who demand we call them enlightened patriots, the MSM that demands we call them unbiased, dark hued Americans who demand we call them Latinos, darker hued Americans who demand we call them African-Americans;are all so busy inventing and inviting so many new victems into their kookamania version of victemhood, that they failed to notice that their supply of
aleged victimizers, have become so much more of a minority than their accusers that one need not wind up waist deep in liberal bull feces to recognize it for what it is.
Yes, and we should do what the rock stars say and throw our money down the sinkholes of ridiculous causes.
If the Rock Stars were true to their convictions they would put their own money where they want their dumbass fans to put their's , until the entertainers had no more left after the donation than does their fan's after they donate. The entertainers would still have been less generous than their fans, because the fan's will work for weeks to earn back their donation, while the star will almost instantly be repaid from royalties, if they never work again.
I had a crash on my bike when I was 11, beginning 22 years of intermittent siezures. I was one of the lucky ones, the damage eventually healed. I never had a decent job I did not have to lie to get, got turned down for dates in high school, it was not an easy time. I just figure that my life never got a start, until I was well past 30 years old.
It is a different situation, I suppose you have to be there to understand.
Question: Must one have rocks in one's head to be a Rock Star??
