Here we go...fasten your seatbelt, we haven't seen nothing yet!

FNC says they have three solid sources that the resignation is imminent. GOOD! Almost as good as John Jerk Stevens or that ACLU witch Ginsburg resigning would be.
Now we have to convince Bush not to nominate Gonzales or Vincente Fox.

I give the President plenty of room with decision-making, but on this nomination, I want the petal to the metal, the whole enchilada....I want a true constitutional conservative. Nothing less will do, and I think I'm not standing here alone.

I'd imagine Frist is already rehearsing the phrases: "being consiliatory to the Minority Party", "in the name of bi-partisanship", and "meeting them half-way in the name of justice".

If Rhenquist would have been the first, the 'Rats would probably have let a strict constitutionalist through since it would have not forced the change of the filibuster rule nor would it have changed the balance of the courts. But O'Connor is as often on the left as on the right and is often the swing vote. They will fight hard to make sure that she is replaced with another "moderate" or even a hard leftie.

I'm sort of curious; what exactly is wrong about Gonzales? I haven't heard much about him.

Damn, made it in the first ten on the other one and it got pulled.
Figures...
Anyway, whoever over there nominated J. Brown, I concur.
