said Giblock, 63. "His poll numbers are so low, he's got to say something, but the support is gone. It's gone. I don't think there's anybody in here who's behind him."

I wonder who is feeding him this information?

VFW Post 2500 in Hollywood

Sorry, their location removes all credibility ... apparently they have drank the liberal Hollywood poison. Sad to see a group of vets, who are in enemy territory, become traitors to their commander in chief so quickly.

Anyway, the country is still behind Iraq, and thank goodness we are NOT represented by VFW post 2500 in Hollywood.

Senility plays a role in the attitude of most people. Why do we assume "veterans" are exempt? Weak minds, easily led by the opportunists.
Of course people staring their own mortality in the face have an unapologetic rebellious outlook on life; they are immune from the cowardice thing, and pretty much don't care.

I used to think Walter Cronkite was a giant to be admired, until he passed 68 or so and his true personality came out. Feet of clay. Red clay.

"He's running scared," said Giblock, 63.

No he's not.

The only people who are "running scared" are the liberals and those who believe everything the media says.

Well, and the French, of course.

"We still have thousands of troops in the [demilitarized zone] in Korea 50 years after the fact. It's going to be the same thing 50 years from now in Iraq."

And your point is, Mr Anderson? Ya know? Have you considered, Better there than here?
Members of our local VFW washed Bill Clinton's feet with their tongues when he strolled into town. They have always remained silent during Dubya's terms. Our local VFW is comprised of enormous numbers of die hard Democrats.

30-35% of veterans voted for Kerry. Of course the defeated liberal media can find 4 or 5 veterans to bash President Bush. But the extremely delusional and idiotic conclusion that the opinions of 5 veterans are representing the opinion of millions of veterans is another blatant lie and distortion form the defeated liberal media.

"I didn't feel this way at the beginning, but now I just don't see an end to it." "

Is this too hard to understand. I'm 74 and a veteran, but I understand that this conflict is not only war, but now is dealing with the worst criminals in history because of the mass killing it can cause. Why is it too hard to understand that civilization is threatened like never before. If it takes hundreds of years, then so be it. This whole thing is trying to protect your a@@ from what could become is the worst mass destruction the world has ever seen. Suppose all the water supply in America was poisoned! Think.

This is a major barf alert. I think those "veterans" are the old time democrats who just are attacking Bush to attack Bush.

They are just late to the DNC party.

It is a wonder they are called "greatest generation" because their comments are very mediocer.

"but the support is gone. It's gone. I don't think there's anybody in here who's behind him."

This article is framed such that these ole coots lost support for the President. I'd say it's safe to say that these vets were always liberal and have never been behind the President or anything else that he does.

I wonder if the S-S reporter has spoken to JAMES CARVILLE lately?!

"The country is just in a foul mood," says Democratic strategist James Carville. He cites a new poll from Democracy Corps in which 56 percent of Americans say the country is headed in the wrong direction. Democracy Corps provides public opinion polling and strategic advice to Democrats. It was cofounded by Mr. Carville and Stanley Greenberg, who served as President Clinton's pollster.

THE LATEST DEMOCRACY CORPS SURVEY, CONDUCTED JUNE 20-26, FOUND THAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE "NOT DOING VERY WELL," Mr. Greenberg said at a Monitor breakfast.

Some 43 percent of voters said they had warm feelings about the Republican Party, while only 38 percent had positive feelings about Democrats. "Republicans weakened in this poll ... but it shows Democrats weakening more," Greenberg said. He attributes the decline to voters' perceptions that Democrats have "no core set of convictions or point of view."
http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/0629/p02s01-usmb.html

You read correctly, Carville and Greenberg's own poll indicates that, yes, Republican job approval ratings are down (including the President's) BUT the Democrats' ratings are down MORE!!!!

POSITIVE (WARM) FEELINGS
48% (Mean 50.0%) President Bush
43% (Mean 49.8%) the Republican Party
41% (Mean 47.6%) the Republican Congress
38% (Mean 48.9%) the Democrat Party

NOTE: The President and Republicans outpoll the DIMS despite the fact that this poll grossly oversamples Democrats and Democrat-oriented constituency groups, e.g., women, minorities, and adults over the age of 60!

THIS IS WHY THE DIMS AND THEIR MEDIA ENABLERS ARE HYSTERICAL . . . THEY ATTACK THE PRESIDENT RELENTLESSLY AND STILL CAN'T EXCEED HIS APPROVAL RATINGS IN THE POLLS!

These are OLD dudes...WWII, Korea, Vietnam-types. They don't have a clue about what people really think about Iraq. Doubt if they even really care. They're just watching/reading the MSM pablum & spitting it back out.
