A Republican congressman from North Carolina told CNN on Wednesday that the "evidence is clear" that Iraq was involved in the terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001.
"Saddam Hussein and people like him were very much involved in 9/11," Rep. Robin Hayes said.
Told no investigation had ever found evidence to link Saddam and 9/11, Hayes responded, "I'm sorry, but you must have looked in the wrong places."
Hayes, the vice chairman of the House subcommittee on terrorism, said legislators have access to evidence others do not.

President Bush said in September 2003 that "We've had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with the September 11 [attacks]."
Nevertheless, Hayes insisted that the connection between al Qaeda and Saddam and "folks who work for him" has been seen "time and time again."
"Nobody disputes 9/11," Hayes said. "They would do it again if not prevented."

Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)
In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”
The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”. (Link below)

15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi nationals. That is beyond dispute.

Somehow I still think, if you showed your list to a liberal, he/she would look at you and ask "Where's the evidence, though?"
of course they asked McLame and he said, "No body has shown me that evidence." (paraphase) - Does this guy leave the room? Any casual reader at NRO or Free Republic would see hundreds of stories about the meeting and people in Iraq. How does the man who wants to be president miss what his voters (in his dreams) are reading?

John McCain is quoted in the CNN report that he has seen no evidence and his stature will carry the day. If all of your facts are right we have positive proof that McCain is risking National security for personal gain. Which is it? This should have a very major impact on both the war and his presidential aspirations.
