And just the other day, the voice of Tigger passed away.
Let's not forget his memorable Cadet Alfie Higgins in tom Corbett Space Cadets! When you look at the scope of his career achievements you can appreciate what a true character actor is!
"Oh, dear dear dear..."
He was in a Star Trek episode too. I believe played some kind of madman.
His voice was terrific as Piglet.
Wasn't that also Mr. Peterson (not sure on the character name) from the Bob Newhart show?
One of the 12 Angre Men too.
How very sad. Piglet is one of my all time favorite characters. My favorite Piglet quotes are:
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
"Pooh!" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you."
and
It is awfully hard to be b-b-brave, when you are only a Very Small Animal.
Prayers for his family.
The voices of Tigger and Piglet pass away within one day of each other.
He was Lawyer J. Noble Daggett in True Grit - which is my very favorite western. Even Glen Campbell couldn't ruin that movie.
He was my neighbor in downtown Brooklyn and until recently I saw him fairly regularly walking around. Just in the past few days I wondered what happened to him as I hadn't run into him for a while (he always said "hi").
It seems a lot of voices have been dying lately.

Mr. Fiedler, Paul Winchell, Henry Corden, and Howard Morris were all members of one of the greatest generations of entertainers to ever pass through Hollywood. With their combined talents they gave millions of children all over the world gifts of joy that can never be replaced...specifically the vocal talents of Mr. Winchell, Mr. Corden, and Mr. Morris. Like Mel Blanc, Paul Frees, Don Messick and Daws Butler, they possessed a rather unique and special gift: the ability to bring so many different characters to life.
...Too bad we'll never see the likes of these performers again in our lifetimes...may Mr. Fiedler rest in peace.
