I am usually content to browse the Free Republic postings, interjecting the occasional post on issues I consider particularly important. I consider myself to be one of the Silent Majority, the core of America.
I left college at 18, frustrated by lofty ideals with no action, people who preach yet lack the courage to actually make a difference. I joined the Army, and became a man. I served in the former Yugoslavia, bringing freedom, and stability to other lands, spreading the American ideals, and ultimately, protecting our nation in the process. Since serving, I have started a family, worked the long hours, and have taken my place in the middle class.
I have endured the taxes, the socialization of our nation, and the degradation of America, all in the name of my family. I wake up each day and put in the long hours so that my daughter will have a better life. My one solace was that of many parents, that I would be able to secure my childs future with my assets, primarily my home. I always considered my home to be my greatest asset, the one item I could leverage everything else against to secure the well being of my family. That feeling was destroyed on Thursday.
I made a decision today. I will not go quietly into the night.
I call all to action!
I call for the resurrection of the Continental Army, or whatever that body would be today. I am not calling for outright armed conflict, not yet, but I am calling for Americans to stop talking, and organize a response.
Our founding fathers started this great nation with a feeling. They didnt know exactly which direction this nation would take, they just new it had to take a different path than it was currently on. Its a feeling you get and cant quite explain. You just know it isnt right, and something has to be done.
I am earnestly waiting for the Jefferson and Adams of our day, to stand up. I hold out hope that from their moths will flow the new Declaration of Independence.
You are not alone.
You get the point!
I feel same as you...I could sew a flag......

How? The use of eminent domain to take property (with compensation) is as old as the constitution. It's been done thousands upon thousands of times, including taking for use by other private owners. Just think of the great railroad expansion.
Some states have laws on the books making it illegal to take property from one private owner and transfer it to another private owner. Do you know what the laws are in your state?
This SCOTUS decision doesn't prevent states from limiting such eminent domain processes. If your state doesn't have these restrictions, then that's where your anger should go, frankly.
You do realize that you'd be compensated for any such eminent domain proceeding against your property, unlikely as that is to happen?
Continental army? How about some political activism?
We have a recourse: impeachment of the guilty justices. They violated their oaths. A show of guns is not the answer, even if unused. Note, you can't control every trigger finger.

I can't say people will revolt over this issue, but it is pushing people to the limit of what they will take.
Compensated=Paid. Most states have a clear route to this, and payment is to be made at the actual value of the property.
In Minnesota, where I live, you can take the folks to court to get what the property's worth, if you're not offered the proper amount.
For residential property, it's pretty simple to figure out, since homes are sold all the time. It's hard to fight with the prevailing prices of similar homes in similar neighborhoods, since the records exist.
Nobody's taking any property without compensation, and there is recourse if that compensation is not adequate.
Any state may pass laws that restrict eminent domain takings. Nothing the SCOTUS said limits that. If your state does not have such limits, then there's where to start.

Check out the history of the term, "requisition". It used to mean the same thing. Not only that, why not demand fair compensation for the prices of other things? Food, medicine, etc?
In this case, eminent domain action was taken to give the property to developers, for a PRIVATE property project.
This was not done to benefit the public at large, as in a highway project that needs to come through your home.
This action was done to merely to increase municipal tax revenues. Keep in mind, the area beibng razed is NOT blighted.
That is a big difference.
My thoughts on the matter.

Joseph Farah seems to think along the same lines as you do. [Sigh.] He's calling for a Lexington and Concord. We can win this politically. There's already a call to overhaul the courts.
It is amazing the tolerance some will show toward obvious tyranny.
