Democrats Demand Retraction From Rove

Democrats are demanding that White House adviser Karl Rove immediately retract and apologize for comments that liberals responded to the Sept. 11 terrorist strikes by wanting to ``prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.''

``The one thing New York has had since Sept. 11 is unity,'' said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. ``To inject politics into this and to defame a large number of people'' is outrageous, he said. ``It's not what New York and America is all about.''

Rove, Bush's chief political adviser, said in a speech Wednesday that ``liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.'' Conservatives, he said in the speech to the New York state Conservative Party just a few miles north of Ground Zero, ``saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war.''

Rove said the Democratic Party made the mistake of calling for ``moderation and restraint'' after the terrorist attacks.

Schumer said Democrats were drafting a letter asking Rove to retract his remarks. Jim Manley, spokesman for Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., also called on President Bush to ``immediately repudiate Karl Rove's offensive and outrageous comments.''

Rove also denounced Sen. Dick Durbin's comments comparing interrogation at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp to the methods of Nazis and other repressive regimes. He said the statements have been broadcast throughout the Middle East, putting U.S. troops in greater danger. The Illinois Democrat has since apologized for the remarks.

``No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals,'' Rove said.

> DO NOT send snail mail ... Senator Allen stated in New Hampshire and on his website, that mail takes six (6) weeks to be processed

I talked to an operator at the Congressional switchboard and asked about sending snail mail. She told me that those long waits had been rectified and it took at most 4 or five days to get through. I think Senator Allen's website may be a bit out of date or perhaps he doesn't want to deal with the volume of mail he could potentially receive.

Emails. faxes and phone calls are all well and good, but a letter makes the most impact, and thousands of them really make the point.

Well, okay. Senator Allen stated this in NH last week-end as well. I think on certain issues, 4-5 days is too long anyway. We all just do what we can.

If there's any apologies to be made, it should be by Libs for coddling terrorists.

Never forget guns in the hands of law abiding Americans are more of a threat than nuke technology in the hands of the commies in fascist China.

The Democrats are truly ruining this country! The terrorists are laughing all the way to the bank and the drawing board! If we are so called losing this war in Iraq it's because of the PC way the Democrats insisted it be played. You don't win a war PC. Let's think back to the Redcoats. Their way of fighting totally obliviated them. We picked them off. Fight in formation. Good for us! Now what is good for us?

"Rove didn't make these comments without forethought. I've got a feeling we're seeing "strategery" in motion. I luv it!"

Excellent point! What he did beyond tell the truth, was expose their bias. The only dem who came out against durban was Mayor Dayley. The rest of them ran because they believe the same way that durban does. And the main stream media gave durban a great big pass on his remarks. Where was the big story there? The main stream media couldn't seem to find it. They reported it but not with the same fuhrer. This now shines an even brighter light on media bias and how they walk hand in hand with the dem party.

For once, Rove, whom I detest in many regards and on particular issues, says something that I agree with, and almost sounds like Michael Savage!! :0

Shouldn't be surprised, I suppose, but I just heard Shep Smith side with the rats a few minutes ago . . . Smith: "the congress voted overwhelmingly in favor of giving the President the authority to take the war to the enemy, and democrats WERE in the streets of NY on 9/11, with tears in their eyes. And they were talking war," or words to that effect. All of which, of course, is total BS! Rats let the president and Republicans know right off the bat on 9/11, that congress would not declare war, or anything of the sort. This would be a semi-military policing action, that's all.

Bunch of damned, gutless traitors.

And Shep Smith's memory is sorely lacking, too!

They might have been offensive and outrageous (to them), but you don't apologize for the truth.

Please, allow me...

The media focused on how upset conservatives were over Durbin's "passion" for exposing and ending the atrocities at that Gitmo "gulag". You are right, libs all view the world through the same warped lens.
