Perry taped using vulgar slang

Star-Telegram Austin Bureau
AUSTIN - When California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recites his signature movie line, "Hasta la vista, baby," crowds cheer.
But Texas Gov. Rick Perry was cringing Tuesday after he was captured on a news video a day earlier using street slang for a common vulgarity at the end of an interview with a Houston TV reporter.
"Adios, mofo," the governor said into a live microphone and video camera after being interviewed at an Austin studio via satellite by Ted Oberg of KTRK-TV. The station aired the clip, which was taped Monday afternoon, during its newscasts Tuesday and included the fact that Perry called later to apologize.
Asked about the remark during his news conference to outline his plan to overhaul the state's school finance system, Perry reiterated his apology and said it was an inside joke directed at his deputy press secretary, Robert Black.
"I called Ted this morning, and I apologized to him," Perry said. "It was some inappropriate banter that was directed towards Robert Black, and no offense toward him ... nor anyone else. It was inappropriate."
Black said later that he had used the phrase in the governor's company while the two were watching the NBA finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons.
Black said Perry thought the satellite link had been severed between him and the Houston reporter.
It's not the first time Perry, a Republican who is up for re-election next year, has been videotaped in a faux pas. As lieutenant governor in 2000, an irritated Perry was captured on video asking a state trooper, "Why don't you let us get on down the road?" after his driver had been stopped for speeding.
Don't feel bad. My daughter, when she was in Middle School (now graduated HS last month) came home one day and was using the term over and over because EVERYBODY at school's using it now. She didn't have a clue as to what it meant. She thought it meant "My Friend".................After I told her, she hasn't used it since..... (at least not around the house!).....
Since Perry is the HMFIC in Texas, he can say what he wants! Ha!
It's all an unfortunate misunderstanding. He didn't say "adios mofo," he said "adios MODO".
When the interview is over...KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT until the mics are taken off you and you are away from them. Geeeez. You could BURP and it would still be heard. Sometimes these people ALL lack common sense!
OMG...a governor actually cusses.....
Stop the presses.....does he drink too?
Oooooooh the humanity....
NeverGore :^)
PUH-Leeze, Not this early in the Mornin'!!!!
"Missouri Foal"- a colt or filly born in MO.
At first, I thought he said "mojo" and I was wondering when the Odessa Permian nickname became a derogatory term.
Yup. We met my daughter's boyfriend for the first time this last weekend. He mentioned to my daughter that he was surprised he did not hear any cussing in our home. My daughter told him "Just wait". About that time, unaware of their conversation, I hollered "YOU A--HOLE" at my husband, LOL!
Here's another:
"I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
I have no idea why he would combine Mexican goodbye with a ebonics slang for a insult. Saying what he did to the wrong person will get you shot.
At least he didn't squirt all over a blue dress.
So what? He has nice hair and that's all that matters. Besides, it's not like he told a joke about trying to milk male horses.
Every veteran knows that one; pretty much the same as "Fubar."
Clever...but I see through it, you are just trying to invoke the Catherine Zeta Jones Rule ; )
Fubar? Snafu? Help me out, guys...
When the interview is over...KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT until the mics are taken off you and you are away from them.
Words of wisdom.
I have signed legislation outlawing the Mofo's. We start bombing the MoFo's in ten minutes.
Not as bad as Hoffeines(spl) when he compared rape with bad weather, "nothing you can do about it so just lay back and enjoy it".
What is wrong is that he used the Ebonics version of a very vulgar (obscene) phrase.
It does not matter is the vulgarity was in another language, it means the same. This is enough to be fined by the FCC.
