Perry taped using vulgar slang

Star-Telegram Austin Bureau
AUSTIN - When California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recites his signature movie line, "Hasta la vista, baby," crowds cheer.
But Texas Gov. Rick Perry was cringing Tuesday after he was captured on a news video a day earlier using street slang for a common vulgarity at the end of an interview with a Houston TV reporter.
"Adios, mofo," the governor said into a live microphone and video camera after being interviewed at an Austin studio via satellite by Ted Oberg of KTRK-TV. The station aired the clip, which was taped Monday afternoon, during its newscasts Tuesday and included the fact that Perry called later to apologize.
Asked about the remark during his news conference to outline his plan to overhaul the state's school finance system, Perry reiterated his apology and said it was an inside joke directed at his deputy press secretary, Robert Black.
"I called Ted this morning, and I apologized to him," Perry said. "It was some inappropriate banter that was directed towards Robert Black, and no offense toward him ... nor anyone else. It was inappropriate."
Black said later that he had used the phrase in the governor's company while the two were watching the NBA finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons.
Black said Perry thought the satellite link had been severed between him and the Houston reporter.
It's not the first time Perry, a Republican who is up for re-election next year, has been videotaped in a faux pas. As lieutenant governor in 2000, an irritated Perry was captured on video asking a state trooper, "Why don't you let us get on down the road?" after his driver had been stopped for speeding.
same as MF'er.....
MOFO= Mother F%$ker
Its really just a slang joke generally said in jest.
He should tearfully apologize in about a week.
WHAT!??
It's a sure bet we won't hear anything about Hillery's colorful language from the breathless MSM.
Let's see hmmm??? he was talking to a reporter - oh well the truth hurts.
Oh big deal, even this grandma uses street terms in jest occasionally.
Gee, and here I was thinkin' it was a subwoofer :)
Like the "Can we just move on down the road?" clip we saw over and over again in the last one.
Sheesh... He doesn't even know to use the TRUE acronym for that phrase? AMF!
I apologize if you misinterpreted what I said because I didn't phrase it as well as I could have and you took offense. How's that for an apology?
You forgot to close with MoFo...
Texans cuss from the cradle, I don't care what he says or how many cuss words he uses to relate a point, the only important question is, what has he done for us lately?
Thanks. I heard the quote on the radio this morning and I couldn't figure out which word was offensive, I had to look it up on the news site. After I found the offending word, they still didn't say what it meant.
At least he didnt call him a Major League MoFo.
Perry done for Texans? In a word? NOTHING!!
Hopefully he wont be reelected and not because of what he said.
If this was a typical reporter, it was a waste of too mild a term. How else do you deal with a blow-dried, arrogant, smarmy dumb-as-rocks dork?
Big deal. I remember Clinton tossing the word Snafu around during his administration. Does the media know what the word "Snafu" is street slang for?
