KAMAS, Utah Boy Scout officials confirmed Tuesday that a missing Boy Scout has been found alive in Utah, four days after he vanished.
Searchers in the area where Brennan Hawkins (search) was located said he had no major injuries, however it could not be confirmed. He was found just before noon near Lily Lake, about five miles northeast of the Boy Scout camp where he was last seen Friday, said Kay Godfrey, director of public relations for the Great Salt Lake Council.
"He has been found, he is alive, and he's in pretty good shape for an 11-year-old boy," Godfrey told The Associated Press. "It's a modern day miracle that he's been found."
Rescuers said Hawkins was being transported by helicopter to a children's hospital in Salt Lake City.
The boy vanished from a Boy Scout camp in the Uinta Mountains (search) on Friday.
Emergency workers said Hawkins must have had to cross a river in order to end up where he was found.
Summit County Sheriff Dave Edmunds said earlier that the boy's chances were good because nights had been warm, with temperatures falling only into the 50s. The area is about 100 miles northeast of Salt Lake City.

Sorry, he broke the stay put rule. When you are lost, stumbling around in a panic only makes it worse.
That being said, I sure am pleased he is OK.
and if he had been found dead i assume the opposite would be true...
Yes He does, but the young scout's next merit badge should be Orienteering.
""It's a modern day miracle that he's been found."
I attribute this wonderful story more to the actions of dedicated, caring, driven human beings, rather than 'miraculous' circumstances. It's amazing what determined people can do when they work together for a common goal. Glad the Scout is safe and he's certainly earned his Outdoor Survival merit badge!
Orienting a map isn't a Merit Badge. I believe it was part of First Class requirements.
Not to be picky, but he blew the big one by not staying in one place. Anyway you look at it, Boy Scouting teaches some valuable skills.
How did he get lost? I remember the last one that was never found was simply walking a short distance and got turned around. I am elated over this one.
No, the Sovereignty of God would still stand. God does hear the prayers of all His children in Christ. Have you gotten sick yet of what this world offers - death, destruction and degradation. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ and turn away from wickedness and ask for Salvation. The Heavenly Father awaits with open arms with a Salvation to great for you to comprehend.
True, but he doesn't always say "Yes". If this kid hadn't been found, it doesn't mean God wasn't listening or didn't care.
I'm thankful that this kid was found and I'm thankful for God's mercy on my soul. But I would think no less of God if they had found the kid dead.
Kids, and some older folks, daydream. I don't know much about that area, but in heavy forest it is possible to be lost after a 5 minute walk.
what a wonderful miracle!
Praise the lord, some good news for a change
Believe me, there is. Search for it on the web; there is an image of it as well as the requirements.
Good idea but not enough room on the tagline. ;)
Orienteering is still a merit badge; not an Eagle requirement though.
I love happy endings, let's pray for more of them.
praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is wonderful.
