Some case info to go along with this map...
(as far as I know this is all correct)

The Island is 6 to 7 miles deep by about 20 miles long

B-1 = California Lighthouse - where the boys claim they took her first after leaving the Bar.

D-3 = #4 is the location of the 2 Marriott Hotels - where the 2 brothers (and now Joran) claim they dropped Joran and Natalee off after leaving the lighthouse -  the 2 brothers claim they went home to Hooiberg after that.

D-3 = #19 is the location of the Holiday Inn where Natalee was staying.

G-5 = Where the red #2 marker is pointing to is the area that the Carlos & Charlie Bar is located

D-4 = Township of Montana is where Joran lives

F-7/8 = Hooiberg (Haystack Mountain) - The 2 Kalpoe brothers live in this area at the foot of the Haystack Mountian.

C-9 = By the Natural Bridge on the map is the location where the sharks hang out as they are fed at this location. This is the Shark Infested Feeding Area.

E-3 = Wetland in the Bird Sanctuary is the location where they found the Condoms/Condom Wrappers - Duct Tape (looked like black electrical tape to me) - Female Flowered Panties - and a String or Strap from a Bikini or Halter Top.

Greta is one clever lady lawyer. Her actions down in Aruba have been gutsy and breathtaking. Let's hope and pray she pries the truth out of this bunch. As for the average Aruban being sick and tired of this mess and American bullying media, that's understandable...from their point of view N's disappearance puts their livelihood in jeopardy. But if you asked them what they'd like to happen if one of their children disappeared, they'd probably admit they'd act like N's mom.

True enough, TexKat. I think it was the wording that was goading me. I made a kneejerk reaction; it was like she was saying the Bible was an afterthought or a Readers' Digest or something. I saw it as a putdown of the Bible rather than seeing Joran as the only one who could have benefited by spending more time with the Bible.

Agree with your post about possible reaction if someone or a gang showed up at my home at 3 am, banging on the gate, demanding to get in. But a girl was missing. It's not just, 'oh, your son was in a bar fight, he knocked my kid's front tooth out' sort of thing. A girl was missing. That would have had me pulling on street clothes and joining in to help any way I could. J's father did go look for him, etc., but it would have been smart of the v.d.S's to help search the island, whether they believed J was involved or not.

Re: Natalee's family going to the VDS house at 3am, the time factor was critical. If there was a chance that Natalee was still alive, every moment counted and waiting until a more "appropriate" hour was not an option.

This was posted on Riehl today.

This is what the latest we got from a reporter who is known on the island to get confidential info from his friends in the police department.
1. All three guys agreed they left JVDS and NH near the Marriot on that night.
2. JVDS testified that he and NH went for a swim and after that whey walked bak to the hotel, where he walked home and NH to Holiday Inn, which is just a few 100 meters away. Easiest if you walk on the beach, there is a walkway connecting all hotels from the beach area. He insists he left her there.
3. The DJ was suspected because he told an friend erlier that he was asked to use his boat (not the TATTOO) but a smaller vessel to dump something in the sea. That's why when inteviewed he said that he saw the guys leaving the girl at the HI, but when this story came apart, they arrested him the next day.

You're overestimating yourself there, Howlin. I was not referring to YOU as someone who "came after" me. (As a matter of fact, I don't remember the screennames of the couple of posters who, figuratively at least, stalked and harassed me. Nor even the subjects of the threads where that occurred. I do remember it was unpleasant and I don't want to invite it to happen again.)

The ex FBI special agent was asked that on Fox this am, how could a 17 year-old hold out so long if he was guilty? The agent shrugged and said that was puzzling, and maybe it was time for the Aruban LE to stop playing bad cop and start with the good cop stuff...make friends with him and break him down.
