June 15, 2005--If Senator Hillary Clinton runs for President in 2008, 30% of Americans say they would definitely vote for her. A Rasmussen Reports survey also found that 36% would definitely vote against the former First Lady.
Those numbers represent an improvement compared to two weeks ago for Clinton. They are back in line with most of the earlier Hillary Meter surveys.
In the "Purple States," those decided by less than five points in Election 2004, 28% will definitely vote for the New York Senator and 35% say they will definitely vote against. If these numbers hold, she would need to win over 62% of the remaining voters to capture a majority in these states.
In the Blue States won by John Kerry, 32% will definitely vote for Mrs. Clinton, 33% definitely against. In Red States won by President Bush, its 29% for, 38% against.
Ideologically, there is little change in perceptions of New York's junior Senator compared to recent surveys. Forty-four percent (44%) continue to believe that she is politically liberal. In January, before Clinton launched an effort to moderate perceptions of her political views, 51% believed that liberal was the right label for the Senator's political views.

Thirty-three percent (33%) of Americans view the former First Lady as a moderate while 7% believe she is politically conservative.
Collectively, todays Hillary Meter places Senator Clinton a net 54 points to the left of the nation's political center.
The political center is calculated by subtracting the number of liberals from the number of conservatives among the general public (35% conservative, 18% liberal for a net +17). For the Senator, 7% conservative minus 44% liberal equals a net minus 37. The minus 37 reading for Senator Clinton is 54 points away from the plus 17 reading for the general public.
Nationally, 44% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Hillary while 40% hold an unfavorable view. In the battleground states, the numbers are 40% favorable and 41% unfavorable.
The Hillary Meter is a twice monthly measure of Senator Hillary Clinton's effort to move to the political center. The next update is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29. For as long as the former First Lady is a viable candidate for the White House, Rasmussen Reports will monitor public perceptions of her political ideology.
Separate surveys have perceptions of the former First Lady in Virginia, Ohio, and Michigan.

Good lord.....who are these people???
that 7% of a america needs their voting privileges revoked.
Great minds think alike...you beat me by 1 minute.
Who is supposed to give a rip about these assinine polls three years before an election? All they do is take up space.
They're people who don't know what conservative means or how to spell it.
Rasmussen is just part of that darn Right Wing Conspiracy against me. It will just take more time for me to rule over America and make it a Socialist Country.
/Sarcasm OFF
Trends are useful things to know about! Such knowledge keeps nasty surprises from happening on election day.....
THEY are the hard, hard left. Their current position on her is that she is part of the whole powerful elite in Washington. These hard leftists don't like any mainstream, or what they think is mainstream, politician. But, when push comes to shove, as they did with Kerry, they will vote for her.

MSM tryin to boost Hillary.
At this posint I say LET THEM. I am very confidant that she has so many skeletons in her closet, the graveyard will pull her under (I do not think she is a lock for the Dems nomoination IMHO) The Senate is not a good springboard to the Whitehouse - last to do it was JFK(the last JFK-John Freakin Kerry failed).
Govornors and VP's are the bet bet IMHO. we all know Cheney isn't going to run......and I like Jeb but I don't think he'll run this round.
