MANCHESTER, N.H. --The grandfather of a 2-year-old "mystery girl" was arraigned Thursday on charges of possessing pornographic photos of her.
Police say they were led to Richard Hawes, 63, of New Boston, by a clerk who found sexually explicit digital images on a self-serve photo kiosk at a Manchester CVS store. The clerk went to police who, desperate to identify her, released other photos of the girl on Tuesday. They said they had credible information the toddler was in danger and that her parents might not have known about it.
The girl's father, Jeffrey Hawes, of Winter Park, Fla., saw the photos Wednesday on national television and called police, according to an affidavit filed in Manchester District Court.
Jeffrey Hawes said his father had visited the family in Florida about four to six weeks ago. During a police interview, Richard Hawes said he had taken sexually explicit photos of his granddaughter with his digital camera, the affidavit said.

That is so. But it is far from a guarantee. But, more importantly, the problem is not really sexual in the sense that normal people think of as sexual arousal. I guess I am being redundant, but their problem is in the head, not the nads. The need to dominate and hurt is still there. With or without testicles.
With us, it's called trust and that has been badly broken in this man's case. It may never be restored.

Off with his head! (either one will do)
First question, are the photos REALLY pornographic or are they just cute pictures of his grandbaby running around naked and this is a case of overzealous prosecution? It is not unheard of for the child protective services to overreact and screw up someone's life.
Second question, if the grandfather lived in NH and the child in FL, why did CPS take the child out of the home? That isn't right or called for in this case.
Third, IF this is really child porn, I would bet that this is FAR from the first time. I'll bet his daughters (if he had any) and their friends were molested, too.
And that is how the child molesters operate; maintain a solid reputation, get your trust, and move into jobs and avocations where you will be around children.
It is good of her to forgive. But he still committed a crime and should pay.
This sicko probably started out with "harmless" porn.
Well, that would be a matter for determining a radical change in the person. It would certainly be a judgement call, backed up by evidence of a new life.
Before I knew Jesus, I did some very bad and evil things. As far as I know, everyone I hurt has fogiven me. But, it wasn;t just my confession of faith that allowed that. It was their observation of a new man.
You're right. A purpose for every breed, indeed.
Exactly it is similiar to the character Jon Lovitz used to play, The Liar, no one can believe these guys.
Spend ten minutes at engrish.com. It's my no-fail mind cleanser.
Right but had you been a pedophile it would not be reasonable to conclude you weren't anymore even if your life appeared exemplary after your change.
Many of them appear to be better than normal like the pediatrician just sentenced in Chicago for child porn possession. If they were easily spotted they would not be such a problem.
I bet some of this guy's money has been used by larry flynt to help the democrat/liberal cause.
To answer your first question...the man left the first store when he realized that the pictures were going to print behind the counter. He wouldn't have done that if he believed that the pictures were innocent.
He also admitted to taking sexually-explicit pictures of his granddaughter. No one would admit to that if it wasn't true.
Regarding your second question...I agree with you. I don't see any reason for CPS to remove the child from her parents' care when the grandfather doesn't live there. The little girl is being further traumatized by not being with the people that love her the most.
Third, you're probably right. He probably has a history of this. I find it difficult to believe that a 63 year old man suddenly becomes a child molester.
Thank you. :-)
I'll remember it for when I need it in the future.
Because, even though the father called and identified his dad, they are trying to find some reason to lock him up and take the child.
They only get paid if they can take the child.
OK, how about this - sub rubbing alcohol for lemon juice, and for the finale' - a salt rub...
