Still I thought if you removed the gonads, the hormones associated with sexual arousal were diminished.

That is so. But it is far from a guarantee. But, more importantly, the problem is not really sexual in the sense that normal people think of as sexual arousal. I guess I am being redundant, but their problem is in the head, not the nads. The need to dominate and hurt is still there. With or without testicles.
