Federal officials believe they have broken up an al Qaeda terror cell operating in Lodi and have arrested two men and detained two others as part of a wide-ranging investigation, authorities said Tuesday. One of the men arrested, 22-year-old Hamid Hayat, is accused in a federal criminal complaint of training in an al Qaeda camp in Pakistan to learn how to kill Americans and then lying to FBI agents about it. His training included explosives and weapons instruction and using photographs of President Bush as targets, court documents indicate.

Yeah well there are places in Pakistan that not even pakis can get to. Really. Not since Alexander the great.
Yes , that's the one!
Thanks.
See #160 for an earlier one.
Drago answered my question ....on the Gateway Charter Schools.
Listen very carefully . . .
President Bush and his cabinet, have prosecuted this war just about as brilliantly as could have been done.
Given the small number of coalition armed forces, the politics of the left, and the international political situation being what it is.
Bombing these or any of the other savages into the stone age is a ridiculous strategy and counterproductive to the prosecution of the war.
Most likely, the first repercussion such a rash action, would be an all out war, a crashed or severely disrupted world economy and a needless and possibly catastrophic disruption to the American way of life.
On the other hand we are much better having used this war to shift our global assets away from the global locations that don't match up with currant and future Geo political problems.
We can pressure a change in the politics and culture in the middle east (where the terrorist come from)because we are close enough militarily to make those tyrants sweat.
We are getting more bang for our buck winning hearts and minds, While changing political and cultural structures over the long range.
It is your common sense I question not the Presidents.
I'd gladly pay a tax increase to wipe the slate clean and get on with what life really is about.
Two Lodi men...the train to Lodi shut down.....
You forgot the reports of muslims working for the FBI in DC handing out little cakes as well.
YOU HOPE! (though you're not alone). Our present crop of leaders may prove George Washington to have been correct all along, or, they may "Chutes & Ladders" a 7th century culture into the 21st. Guess where my money's going?
Religious fanaticism and fanaticism in general have their place in society, especially if you're about to embark upon a mission to convert all 'non-fidels' to your ancient 'fad', or willing to kill those not ready to join the cause.
When the anthill gets large enough, bombs become an attractive alternative to infantrymen. From a military standpoint, you might look at a problem and ask,"How do I get rid of this sh*t?" Too bad the civilian population hasn't the common sense of the military when it comes to tackling problems. Any problem, 'cause every problem has a solution. Excuse me: Every Problem Has A Solution, Sir!. (and don't forget it!)
Yuch. Stay safe, Tiggy......
Silly person.
If you will, (blech) put yourself in the shoes of these yahoos. They lived here for I don't know how long, but have themselves a nice little "organization" going.
Do you think for a MOMENT they'd attack within their own community?
They chose a small town on purpose, to sneak in and out of. MOST people would be suspecting the big cities. THIS came as a total surprise.
You can't just order them to change the entire cultural and religious order of the country overnight even under threat of a nuclear attack
What would you do different ?

With this type of reasoning, we would have lost WW2. This NEEDS to be all out war, of course it will cause possibly catastrophic disruption to the American way of life - the people in the WTC will tell you about catastrophic. Yes war does disrupt the economy. And NO, we are not getting enough bang for our buck... for Pete's sake, we have been at this longer than WW2, at 100 billion a year, the DOW stuck, gas prices up, recruitment down, and 150 thousand troops doing bullet magnet duty in Iraq and A-can and
every day Iran gets closer to joining the Nuke club.
And we are not even touching on the building Chinese threat.
Nuke them now before they get the ability to Nuke US.
Like you do? .... to the party line?
Veering off to Iraq was and still is literally unexplainable.
Pakistan was and is the location of the the terrorist root force and the logical progression from Afghanistan.
Unless you want to move the Wahabis of Arabia into the bullseye, which admittedly would have risked more in terms of Muslim outrage.
My only reference to bombing was very specifically directed to al qaeda training camps.
What in your "common sense" tells you that doesn't make sense?
So the world's most powerful nation stands by helpless?
Puhleeze!
They interviewed that Lodi-ian on the tv last night...he was in disbelief.
I think that mosque has about a week before it gets torched.
Did you hear the list of icecreams that Al Qaeda Ice Cream man was selling on Savage?
