"No offense, but you probably shouldn't draw conclusions on items that you haven't read yourself."
No offense taken as I realize now that most of the info on this thread is speculation and rumors.
Glad to hear it. My experience (think I have a good few decades on you there) has been that even the most experienced male traveler, when traveling alone, had better know the language. For the life of me, why I can see young Americans with headphones on walking around major cities in foreign countries is quite simply beyond me. Nothing is more essential than knowing what noises are around you--especially if you don't know the language, and moreso if you do.
Stay above the second floor, don't sit in an aisle seat, etc. Relying on the good graces of the foreign nationals drops exponentially with sunset. Good to know.
Yeah, you were safe. And, you were in Europe.
These blue water places in the Caribbean are pretty, yes, but they are famous for their offshore banks, after all, and now this. Sure, it's nothing compared to a single day in any city in the US. It's just sad. And, yes, they need to solve this, or say they have, toute suite.
IF TRUE.
they also called in the FBI because they don't have the forensic teams or labs or the specially trained divers
personally if they were hiding something they wouldn't have called in the FBI, just ask the FBI about the co-operation they didn't get from the Saudis on Khobar Towers in 1995
I think that we have to understand that actually the police should not be giving away every detail to the media because it can compromise the investigation, this is a mistake made by some American cops who get all starry eyed with the media coverage
we may be frustrated but it is in fact better for the investigation to keep your mouth shut on details so you can interview witnesses and catch them in lies etc......
all in good time, all in good time, give the Aruban police and courts a chance to do their thing
In which case I assume they are guilty and her blood is on their heads
I posted on another thread today something that was reported on another board. It was posted by someone from the town Natalee was from.
The poster said that Natalee went off with just the one guy, or thought that's what she was doing. She told her friends she would be back in a few minutes, he was going to take her to see the lighthouse or some such site that she had not seen.
Since she was leaving the next day, she probably just wanted to go see it, and remember, she had been hanging out with this guy (the judge's son) since they met a few days before, and probably had come to trust him.
But as the car drove off, the poster said that Natalee's friends saw the other 2 guys sort of hiding in the backseat of the car.
Just reporting what was on either tripadvisor or courttv boards, not sure now which one.
I will never believe that that girl planned on having relations with all 3 guys, if that's what happened.
If you will re-read the entire headline, you will see your error.
Aruba isn't famous for its offshore banks or anything else notorious. It's famous for being a small island with a dutch (white) population where there is hardly any crime. Vacationers do not have to worry about being approached with panhandlers or the like.
Aruba is nothing like Jamaica or any other island in the Caribbean. It's like a small town in the United States.
>3. A guide or companion whose purpose is to ensure propriety or restrict activity<
What makes you think the 7 on this trip were doing this? They were on the trip. They had no authority to tell these students anything.Notice none stayed behind and assumed any responsibility after she turned up missing.
Assumptions like you have made are the the same ones made by many parents who allow their kids to make trips like this.
exactly - even that is conjecture at this point, I'm just pointing out if you are judge's son or oh say a Kennedy, the police are likely going to not make an arrest until they have more evidence than perhaps in a "normal" situation, whether they live in Aruba or Mass...we can only presume that as of now, the cops don't have probable cause vs the three yet or they may be playing a game with these boys, they could be under surveillance,
Me either. It's just hard for me to believe that two different groups of guys are involved in this. Something sounds fudged.
Then why is no other news source reporting it? If it were true, CNN and FoxNews would be all over it.
Your statements about a place you know nothing about make you sound silly. They 'hate Americans?' Where on earth do you get that idea?
If she has not been seen on the hotel camera returning when they said she did, and if the 2 guards were not lurking in front of the Holiday Inn and intercepted her, then I think the 2 who are charged are being set up.
I also notice that we haven't heard boo from the "chaperones". Guess they are laying low.

Sorry. Am thinking of a few other places in the vicinity.
And if they do not, quarantine the island until they do ...
Good idea. Nobody in, nobody out.
Hard interrogation, polygraphs, truth drugs and even torture are appropriate methods in cases like this.
