I've never subscribed to all of this "medical" marijuana crap. It's just a subterfuge to legalize marijuana in stages. Nobody can tell me that among the jillions of painkillers and herbs out there, nothing can be found as good or better than tripping on pot. The process of legalizing marijuana has begun in the same way as legalizing euthanasia: first, a few really extreme and sympathetic cases of suffering, and then on to mainstreaming it. Look at Holland, where the old, the sick, and even children whom doctors do not deem worthy of life are now being put to death involuntarily.
I applaud the Supreme Court's decision.
Post of the day IMHO... Hammer Nail Head...

I'll just weigh in here and say that, as I read
the original post (#188), it appears that if he "
had x disease" and if the pain "
got bad enough" (thus, the pain is a given), his
choice would be between...
- marijuana (and addiction)
- suicide.
He would choose (2) because he believes suicide is preferable to addiction.

I agree with you and not with seamole. Arguing with seamole about it, however, seems unproductive at best.

Now you're taking his post much further than he did. He didn't say "unbearable". There is no such thing as unbearable pain. He said "bad enough". Why put words in his mouth? Huh? Actually, using "unbearable" rather than "bad enough" was actually being kind to the poster.
I'm actually having a hard time figuring out what your problem is with the original post. The guy said some pretty wacked out things ("I'd kill myself before I'd relieve my pain via MJ") and you attacked someone who pointed out how deranged that is.
No one put words in the guy's mouth - his words have been quoted back to you several times.

I was pretty disappointed in Scalia; just taking a pretty quick glance at his decision, it appears that he's giving up all the ground that we (and by we, I mean states' rights conservatives) won in Lopez and Morrison.
Sad although not unexpected.

Quite possibly. Who says we know His timetable? He waited 3000 years to reveal the New Testament to us. Who says there isn't more? Who knows... maybe Joseph Smith was telling the truth. Maybe Jim Jones or David Koresh. Maybe you and I will sit down and write some more revelation... ??
I'd say we just disagree.
Have a nice evening!

Baloney Thats what people said about MARIJUANA INDUCED PSYCHOSIS at first...

I have gave my testimony on my experience on the above more than once on FR... and all the responses I get were basically the same one word statement as you just stated... people try to deflect my testimony saying it was "laced", but it did not affect my cousin the same as it did me.

That happens with leagal narcotics all the time Elvis Presley had every DR he dealth with give him narcotics.. In the early 80's my friend had her Dr give her Ampethamines street name *BLACK BEAUTYS* to her all the time ]Nothing new here.... Are you trying to justify breaking the law?
Are you saying that because there are always going to be people out there finding loopholes in our laws, it's no big deal?
Sorry...it doesn't compute.

Those big Republican backers have illegal drugs right on top of their list Its not about the drug. Its about individual freedom. Its about States rights.
If you could remove your mommies blinders, maybe you could get a clue.

Scalia is a political animal. I'll have to read his opinion, but it's a disturbing thought that he'd let the CJ's nomination influence his decision.

This should make the conservatives happy. Now instead of left-wing liberal judicial activism, we now have a case of right-wing judicial activism. And the difference is, hell if I know.Yep. Judicial arrogance is not exclusively a left-wing failure.
