COUNT ME WITH THE LIBERTARIANS ON THIS ONESorry, can't do that. Your views on SCOTUS and state powers are consistent as is Justice Thomas'. Many of the same folks here who are applauding Thomas were skerwering him for his dissent in Lawrence.

It's the most psychologically addictive substance there is, IMO.I ask again, where'd you get that idea?
Because, back when I was using it years ago, I would smoke like a chimney for 9 months, and stop cold turkey for 3 months. No withdrawals, no cravings, no problem whatsoever.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary.)

Exactly. The primary effect of this ruling (and subsequent lower court rulings citing this one as precedent) is that Congress rather than State Legislatures get to determine what is a crime. Sort of like the 55mph speed limit.

Sorry, but the facts do not seem to agree with your opinion.
You can look it up. Nicotine and caffeine are both more addictive than ganja.

No newb you're wrong, stupidity is! Blackbird.

You never have gotten this right, my friend. Thomas got both right. Same sex sodomy is not protect by the 14th amendment, and the Commerce Clause covers trade AMONG the states, not within a state. The farmers would never, and in fact did not, empower the central government to run our economy. But you side with FDR and his Court on judicial activism, by changing the Commerce Clause to say something it does not say.

We can only pray that someday a conservative court will rule that way, and the entire New Deal will be cut from our system of government like the cancer that it is.

Doesn't matter. That little gem that asserts that the legislature is superior is a godsend. We'll see if you are so chipper when Congress is goring your particular ox with their superiorly usurped powers.

You've convinced me.. Not addictive..
LOL

I wasn't on Free Republic for that. But I'll take your word for it.

We'll see if you are so chipper when Congress is goring your particular ox with their superiorly usurped powers. At least it's Congress. Usually it's a peon federal judge who's doing the goring.
