The Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History has withdrawn its co-sponsorship of a showing later this month of a film that supports the theory of "intelligent design."
The museum said it would not cancel the screening of the film, "The Privileged Planet," but would return the $16,000 that the Discovery Institute, an organization that promotes a skeptical view of the Darwinian theory of evolution, had paid it.
Proposals for events at the National Museum of Natural History are reviewed by members of the staff, and it shares sponsorship of all events. After the news of the showing caused controversy, however, officials of the museum screened "Privileged Planet" for themselves.
"The major problem with the film is the wrap-up," said Randall Kremer, a museum spokesman.
"It takes a philosophical bent rather than a clear statement of the science, and that's where we part ways with them."

You still haven't read the subject. You possibly do not get answers because of the coy act and the general insulting attitude of you and your peers.
"Why do I never get an answer to these questions?"
Because they have none :)
Romans 5:12-21
12. Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned--
13. for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law.
14. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.
15. But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
16. Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.
17. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
18. Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.
19. For just as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20. The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
21. so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
NIV 1 Peter 1:17-21
17. Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.
18. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers,
19. but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
20. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
21. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
NIV 1 Corinthians 2:7
No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
NIV 2 Timothy 1:8-10
8. So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God,
9. who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
10. but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
NIV Titus 1:1-4
1. Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--
2. a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,
3. and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,
4. To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Uh...
Perhaps because you only sing one tune:
And yet you are wrong. I have no opinion on ID, as I've never read the theory. This is what happens when emotion rules over observed facts. Imagine that, you were wrong, and yet so certain.
Thanks again for proving my point concerning the emotional response of those who think themselves scientific.
That's all real nice and all. All those references to creation. It's too bad none of them say how God did all that, because evolution is a pretty neat creation of God's.
"And yet you are wrong. I have no opinion on ID"
Suuuure :)
Just as some of Orwell's animals were more equal. You are a treasure. Do all evolutionists foam at the mouth? I wonder how that developed. Did early bacterium foam when challenged? Perhaps the foaming is attractive to fertile mates. This must be. How else to explain its current existence, despite millions of years? Or perhaps it was ID, and you were intended to have foam, as to warn others. Alas, I'm afraid it is all open to debate (unless of course you get your way).
You really do crack me up. You are bound and determined to have an argument with me over something to which I haven't voiced an opinion.
I'm now thinking about your IQ, but being a mind reader, you know what I'm thinking. Please, please, keep it up. Although I was only voicing an assertion, you are providing vast amounts of factual support. I may actually have to publish now. Where do I send the check? This is too funny! Thanks, I'm in a great mood now. Gotta go. I'll check in later to fill in my footnotes.
"The problem here is that science works with "scientific theories", and an explanation must fit a specific set of criteria to be a theory within the context of science. Thus far ID hasn't even demonstrated that it does that much, so from the standpoint of science, it isn't a theory at all, much less "deserving" of the same respect as actual scientific theories."
I agree. At one point it was the dominant paradigm among scientists, which is why I called it a *theory*. *Explanation* would have been a better term.
Prove this "creator" exists. What is this "evidence" you mention. If it really exists, proving the existence of your god should be a snap.
"Prove this "creator" exists."
Look in the mirror. Look at your eyes. I mean take a good long look. Now think about this. How did evolution know things needed to be in focus, how did evolution know there were colors to be seen? How could we, who are so wonderfully made-be the product of a string of coincidences? Wild Horse...you are the proof.
