"The Long Long Trailer"
It's been years since I've seen that movie. One of my favorite "I Love Lucy" episodes is the one where Lucy and Ricky make a bet, that she can't resist buying a new hat and he can't lose his temper. The things she does to him to make him mad are sheer hysteria, and after each one all he says is "that's ok, I'm not gonna get mad." Of course Lucy can't resist buying that hat and does- she asks the shop to deliver it in a couple of days. The day the bet is over Ricky is proud that she lived up to her end of the bet so he tells her to get the hat. She pretends to telephone the shop and asks them to deliver the hat.. as soon as she "hangs up" the doorbell rings and it's the guy with the hat! I know what's coming and I still laugh. Who doesn't love Lucy?!
Thank You, ms marlowe, for pictures of our troops.
Oh, Lauren, I love seeing our sweet guys interacting with the children over there. Those kids will never forget that the American soldier was kind and liked to play with them. God bless them all for their sweet spirits but rock-hard resolve!
Hey LUV, you be safe! Keep an eye out for your weather.
Chopper ride, here I come, LOL!
I like the one where she buries her wedding ring in the brand new brick bbq pit. He he he!
My FIL was also a WWII Vet and he was laid to rest in Feb. God love him! What character - you can not replace it. Incredible really.
Suppose a boss were to say to an employee, "We really appreciate what you're doing around here, but we've decided to change the way we pay you. Starting today, we're going to pay you laterafter you retire." Would the employee jump for joy? Of course not. That's not the way things work in this world. We like our payment nowor at least every payday. Did you know that God promises to "pay" us latermuch later? And He asks us to be happy about it! Jesus suggested that our ultimate reward for the good things we do in His name comes after we die. In Luke 14, Jesus said that if we care for the poor, the lame, and the blind, our reward for such kindness will come at the resurrection of the righteous (Luke 14:14). He also said that if we are persecuted, we should "rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed [our] reward is great in heaven" (6:22-23). Surely, the Lord gives us comfort, love, and guidance today, but what wonderful things He has planned for us in the future! This may not be the way we would have planned it; we don't enjoy waiting for things. But imagine how glorious it will be when we receive our rewards in Jesus' presence. What a grand time we'll have as we enjoy what God has reserved for later. Dave Branon
Eternal blessings with Christ my Lord; Earth's weeping ended, earth's trials over, Sweet rest in Jesus, O blest reward! Gilmore What is done for Christ in this life will be rewarded in the life to come.
Is There Life After Death? |
The notorious Hamburgler, once known as the scourge of the fast-food world, has died in prison, authorities confirmed Thursday.
His death drew a mixed reaction from fast-food icons. Bob's Big Boy said, "I can't say I'm sorry he's gone. I've had a beef with him for years." Others, however, were more forgiving. Colonel Sanders said, "He was a man who always said he did it all for you. But in the end he just couldn't cut the mustard in straight society." And Ronald McDonald remarked, "I hope he's finally found his sesame seed buns. I knew his addiction to fries and Big Macs would ketchup to him someday."
A memorial service will be held next Sunday, and well-wishers can pay their respects at the drive-thru.
My FIL was in the South Pacific during WWII, he was in a hospital in Australia where he met some of the survivors from the Indianapolis. We lost him nearly 15 years ago.
May God bless the vets who have passed on. They are in my prayers too.
I'll always love "Vitameatavegamin" and "Stomping the Grapes"
"Stomping the Grapes" is my favorite!
Anybody know where I can buy a burka?
I just want to be on the record here that the American public is not what the libs portray it as. WE APPRECIATE the guys in the field and we support those people. I know I do in my job.
May we always find the Joy, Mayor. Thanks for the word!
